Poppy Fields Photography Full Description
Having held a passion for photography for many years, taking a step back from my work life in order to have our children gave me the perfect opportunity to move my passion to a career. I'm now lucky enough to have captured images for some of the UK's largest charities, attended internationally recognised events and provided commissioned artwork pieces for clients in both the UK and America. In addition to this, I've also had the honour of being chosen to record precious memories of the most important moment in a married couple's life together - their wedding day. Natural, relaxed reportage images are my preferred style to record beautiful images of your event in the most unobtrusive way possible. If you would like to discuss your photography needs then please do get in touch for an informal chat. Although now based in North Devon, I am available to travel to other areas of the UK or further afield.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Classic, informal, relaxed, timeless, natural

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

It's your day. Everyone attending is doing so to celebrate you as a couple and your love. As such, don't worry about how to make sure everyone has a good time, plan to ensure you have a good time and automatically everyone else will too!

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

A classically beautiful church ceremony followed by a traditional reception where everyone was asked to wear 'funky' shoes. The bride and groom wanted to reflect their love and the importance they placed on their wedding vows whilst not hiding their love of fun. The bride wore custom designed Wonder Woman converse under her Vera Wang dress and they looked stunning!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

After an initial enquiry, I (Sophie) will send you an information pack for you to complete and return to me. I will then turn this information into a full no-obligation quote which will then be followed up by a meeting to discuss your day further. A further catch-up meeting can be held closer to your wedding date but I am constantly available via phone or email right up until the day for any queries.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

I don't think there's a specific picture every couple should have as every wedding is unique to the couple.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

I always visit venues prior to the wedding to scope out potential backdrops for images should outside not be possible. You can always incorporate individual aspects into your wedding to cater for a rainy day. Umbrellas for the bridal party and guests can be found in varying colour schemes and designs and wellies are always great for photo opportunities.
