If you’re planning your wedding in Greater Manchester or nearby, meet Pete and Sara—the husband and wife team behind Pixies in the Cellar. They specialise in documentary-style wedding photography that captures the real, fleeting moments of your day. Their emotive images tell the unique story of your celebration, helping you relive those special memories for years to come.
Pete and Sara understand how important it is to feel relaxed on your wedding day. They work discreetly, capturing candid moments that showcase genuine emotions and interactions with your loved ones. By avoiding stiff poses, they ensure your photos reflect the true you—comfortable, joyful, and fully present in your celebration.
While most of your day is captured as it naturally unfolds, Pete and Sara also set aside time for creative, natural portraits of you as a couple. Their style is often described as quirky, dramatic, and fun. Working together, they photograph your wedding from two perspectives—Sara’s sharp eye for detail complements Pete’s extensive visual arts experience, resulting in beautifully refined and artistic images.
Looking ahead to 2025 and beyond, Pixies in the Cellar are focusing on micro-weddings and elopements. They love the intimacy and authenticity of smaller gatherings—whether it’s just the two of you or a close circle of family and friends—making these moments feel even more special through their photography.
What jumps to mind immediately is a goth wedding we shot on halloween, complete with full moon and jumping the broom! Loads of other weddings have moments that you remember as special but sometimes you just have to be there!
Creative, dynamic, natural,
Time! It goes fast plan in as much time as possible for your day :)
Get on with each other :) Stay in the background, almost invisible if we can be for most of the day.A short wander with the two of you around your chosen venue/location to get some pics of the two of you just being you (but not surrounded by all your guests) Then back to the party :)
There isn't one depends on the couple, venue, time of year. It would be quite sad if each wedding had the same must have pic.
Embrace the weather - just enjoy your day no matter what the weather holds.
Pete's bosses daughter decided he was artistic enough to take her wedding pics and the rest is history! Pete's always been arty, either in graphic design, oil paintings, photography all different mediums to end with a piece of art :) Sara well a biochemist by training, but science is like art really just no-one quite realises it ;)
