I know that photography is more than just a way of recording the ways you made your day amazing; it is one of the ways you make it amazing. For most of us, our wedding is probably the biggest & certainly one of the best parties we will ever throw. It’s a hugely important day for serious reasons as well, of course, but even then the wedding is about celebrating those reasons. You will have put loads of effort resources into creating this day of celebration & I am honoured by each & every one of you that entrusts me with the job of documenting it for you. When wedding day comes, I want you to be able to just focus on each other, not on worrying about the photos. Thus I will work with you beforehand & do my best to make sure you feel comfortable in front of my camera. I spend time getting to know your personality & your preferences, so that they will be reflected in pictures that tell the story of you – as you envisioned it.
If what you want from your wedding are fierce, fresh, fun images - an eclectic mix of vibrant fashion-editorial, relaxed contemporary lifestyle portraiture, humour, romance & reportage – that memorialise this fabulous party of which you & your partner are the centre, & you’re not afraid to get a little silly & to laugh with each other at my dumb jokes & whatever else the day throws your way, then we will be a good match.
On wedding day, even though I’ll be the one vendor that’s there with you from start to finish, the one who finds an extra safety pin when you need it, who sees the anticipation on both of your faces before the ceremony, along with the tears in the morning & laughter in the evening, you won’t always see me. I’ll be front & centre when you need me to be – organising and herding cats for the group portraits – & the photo ninja in the shadows when you don’t. Sometimes clients look at an image & say, “I didn’t even know you were there." Which is as it should be. I was, the moment was captured, & that’s what matters.
