Probably when one couple's marquee on a cliff overlooking the ocean was struck by lightning
pretty, quirky, fun, relaxed
It's always emotional when I delivery my clients' wedding photos; it's an honour to be the cause of happy tears!
Two tips, actually:
1. Plan the entry procession so that the bridesmaids enter before the bride (not the other way around).
2. Hire someone to be your event coordinator on wedding day so that you can actually focus on getting married to your partner and not whether the flowers have arrived, whether the loudspeakers are working or where the caterers should set up or a million other things etc.
Too many to list them all. Amazing entertainment from bride's friends who all worked in musical theatre. Golden dinosaur placecards. Gorgeously rustic DIY cakes. A long walk with all guests led by musicians across the South Downs. A DIY pitch-in wedding breakfast. Vintage wedding dresses. Bridesmaid dresses designed and hand-sewn by the bride.
All of my packages include a personal pre-event consultation to get to know each other and review the contract, a venue visit and a super fun and relaxed pre-wedding photo session. I ask all clients to fill out a client questionnaire detailing their running order on the day, group photo requests and all other relevant info for the event, and I'm in touch with my clients again approx 1-3 weeks before the wedding to finalise details.
There is no cookie-cutter answer to this. Every couple should have photos that reflect their unique personalities and styles. I work with my clients to come up with ideas for images that will be right for them.
One of my brides was a gymnast/cheerleader and she wanted a photo of a basket toss - being tossed really high in the air by all of the groomsmen.
Colourful wellies and pretty brollies and a plan B :). Also to remember that rain can make for a really dreamy, ethereal effect in photos so it doesn't have to be a bad thing - when possible we'll use it to our advantage.
