HEY GUYS, I'M MICHELLE,
A Manchester-based wedding photographer travelling throughout the North West, covering Wigan, Manchester, Cheshire, Lancashire and Beyond!! A twin mum, ex-nurse, and professional love-story and chocolate enthusiast. Powered by Top Gun, theatre trips, Mr Brightside on the dance floor, Friends reruns, and a little Buffy-level resilience (if you know, you know). Calm, organised, and easy to work with, I’m your steady presence in the chaos — big on genuine moments and fully aware that wedding planning can send your nervous system into overdrive. More than just your photographer, I’m also a dress fluffer, counsellor, buttonhole pinner, timeline wrangler, and your biggest cheerleader — here to make sure you enjoy your day without worrying about awkward poses and where to put your hands!!
CAPTURING HOW YOUR DAY FEELS, NOT JUST HOW IT LOOKS
Your wedding day isn’t a photoshoot — it’s a beautifully chaotic, joy-filled, slightly teary, cake-on-your-face, tie-around-your-head, dancing-your-heart-out kind of story. It’s the deep breaths before you walk down the aisle, the inside jokes during the vows, and that one friend who absolutely owns the dance floor.
My job? To capture all of that.
I’m calm when things get a little wild, attentive when you need a steady presence, and quietly in the background when the magic is unfolding naturally (not in a weird hiding-in-the-bushes way, promise). I’ll step in with guidance when you need it, fade out when you don’t, and believe me — I will spot anyone trying to hide at the back of a group photo (a bit like Liam Neeson in Taken… but friendlier).
It’s your day, and my aim is to make it feel easy, natural and fun from start to finish.
Photography by Michelle Jane is all about a relaxed, documentary style. I focus on real moments, genuine emotion, and all those beautiful in-between glances you didn’t even realise were happening. No awkward posing. No forced smiles. Just you — being you.
That said, I know how important group photos and couples portraits are. I’ll gently organise family shots so they’re efficient and stress-free, and we’ll set aside a little time for relaxed couple portraits. Nothing stiff or staged — just natural moments together while you soak it all in. And if posing feels a little daunting, don’t worry. I’ll guide you in a way that feels comfortable and effortless… you might even end up enjoying it!
Whether you’re planning an intimate ceremony, a romantic twilight wedding, or a full-day celebration, I have packages to suit your needs — and if you’re after something a little more tailored, I’m always happy to create a bespoke option that fits your day perfectly.
If you feel like I might be the right fit for your big day, I’d absolutely love to hear from you. Get in touch, ask me anything — I’m here to help.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Hmmm, I remember little things from each one as they’ve all been memorable! One of my first weddings was in a Marquee in Coniston, lots of people just enjoying themselves then the band start to play and guests are on tables, the bride too singing, arms everywhere finishing off with air guitar and a power slide! That was a fun wedding to capture!
Authentic, documentary, fun, warm with an editorial twist!
That I have the amazing opportunity to be a part of someone’s love story, to meet amazing couples and suppliers and to capture those special moments that will last a lifetime!
The stress of the planning will be worth it because on the day nothing will matter! You can’t control everything just have fun and enjoy your day it goes by so quickly - coming from my own experience!
The sentimental gestures to those that are unable to be there on the couples special day! Those photos, trinkets, jewellery allow me as a photographer to really get to know the couples and their families!
When a couple reach out to me with an enquiry, I will often check in with them and see how their planning is going and try and understand a bit more about what they want from a photographer on their special day. I’ll send them a pre booking questionnaire to gather a few more details and ensure the couple have had the opportunity to look over my work and see if I suit their style.
If the couple have any questions, I’m more than happy to answer these and will offer a pre-wedding consultation. This can be online or in person whatever works for the couple and also allows me to get to know them more and help me envision their big day!
Should they decide to book with me, they’ll be sent a contract to sign and will secure their date with a deposit.
As their big day draws nearer, I make contact just to go over the finer details and help answer any other questions they may have and put their mind at ease!
I love a good confetti shot! But I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea! So just being open to having fun will make for some great photos!
Full Group Photo on the dancefloor with indoor fireworks - that one needed ladders but I love a challenge.
To take the opportunity to dance in the rain…oh and maybe an umbrella!
I have always had a passion for photography since being small, it’s only since having my children that this has become apparent mainly because I love to capture the small things, the emotion and create the memories to last a life time!
