What is your most memorable wedding?
Hmmm, I remember little things from each one as they’ve all been memorable! One of my first weddings was in a Marquee in Coniston, lots of people just enjoying themselves then the band start to play and guests are on tables, the bride too singing, arms everywhere finishing off with air guitar and a power slide! That was a fun wedding to capture!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Authentic, documentary, fun, warm with an editorial twist!
What about your business are you most proud of?
That I have the amazing opportunity to be a part of someone’s love story, to meet amazing couples and suppliers and to capture those special moments that will last a lifetime!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
The stress of the planning will be worth it because on the day nothing will matter! You can’t control everything - coming from my own experience!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
The sentimental gestures to those that are unable to be there on the couples special day! Those photos, trinkets, jewellery allow me as a photographer to really get to know the couples and their families!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
When a couple reach out to me with an enquiry, I will often check in with them and see how their planning is going and try and understand a bit more about what they want from a photographer on their special day. I’ll send them a pre booking questionnaire to gather a few more details and ensure the couple have had the opportunity to look over my work and see if I suit their style.
If the couple have any questions, I’m more than happy to answer these and will offer a pre-wedding consultation. This can be online or in person whatever works for the couple and also allows me to get to know them more and help me envision their big day!
Should they decide to book with me, they’ll be sent a contract to sign and will secure their date with a deposit.
As their big day draws nearer, I make contact just to go over the finer details and help answer any other questions they may have and put their mind at ease!
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
I love a good confetti shot! But I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea! So just being open to having fun will make for some great photos!
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
To capture a guest in their cowboy boots!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
To take the opportunity to dance in the rain…oh and maybe an umbrella!
Describe how you got into photography.
I have always had a passion for photography since being small, it’s only since having my children that this has become apparent mainly because I love to capture the small things, the emotion and create the memories to last a life time!
