My first destination wedding at Danilia Village in Corfu! The venue is a photographer's paradise that has been used in The Durrells and the James Bond movie, For Your Eyes Only
Natural, emotional, timeless, candid, organic
Delivering images that make people genuinely happy has to be a big one. Also, capturing a ceremony, reception with all the family and group shots, through to first dance with only 2 hours of daylight and in 30 degree heat.
Pick your bridesmaids and groomsmen well and relax on the day! It goes by so quickly and having the right people around you will make it run smoothly too. Good groomsmen also make our job as photographers easier too :)
Not entirely personal, but a telephone box at one venue where guests could leave a recording on the traditional looking phone. The couple will have had a lot of messages saying "I'm just getting my photograph taken" though!
We'll meet up and go through any ideas and aspirations for your day. If we get along, then I will get you booked in and awkwardly request a deposit. We will keep in regular contact between now and your wedding day - your ideas may develop, as will mine. Around 3 - 4 weeks prior to your wedding we'll meet again and solidify the plan so we all know what shots will be taken and when. I will always try to visit a new venue prior to shooting there because I only like pleasant surprises. So on the day I will already have an idea where our planned shots will take place.
Every couple has different priorities. There are some shots we take at every wedding. The one I would say is a full group shot - and make sure no guest is missing. And it should happen immediately after the ceremony when everyone is happy and ready to pose.
I wasn't asked, but I captured many shots where the dance floor turned into a dance show! That's what happens when your couple are competitive Latin dancers I suppose!
Bring umbrellas and a fun attitude!
I had 2 keen amateur parents and an uncle who used to shoot weddings. I was taught about exposure by my dad, shooting film (I still do some film work now). Entered and won a couple of young photographer competitions then just kept going. I always had a selection of cameras growing up and it;s always something we did as a family.
