What is your most memorable wedding?
I recently shot a micro wedding at Stoke Newington Town Hall - it was a perfect day in everyday, and I've never had an opportunity to shoot such a happy couple!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Candid, natural, authentic, emotional, fun
What about your business are you most proud of?
I get to tell the story of the happiest day in peoples lives and share the happiness around
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
You do you. It's for you, and it's your day. Invest in what you want to invest in.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
People using Skype during lockdown. It's such a lovely idea to beat the challenges and bring people together
Describe your typical process with a couple.
It's so important to get to know your couples. I do this through meeting in person/zoom and get to know what the couple want, their personalities and a bit about the event itself. I'll then issue the contact.
I'll then send a follow up questionnaire to make sure it's very clear what the couple expect and to pick up on any important info (like not putting two warring family members together!).
I then follow up with a mood board & check in with the couple the week before the event and make sure everything is ok.
After the event, I'll follow up within a few days with a very quick highlights slideshow video of the best pics (which can be shared around!), and then I'll work through the remainder of the photos over the next month and send the completed edited set over on a secure online web gallery which makes is so easy to share with loved ones, order prints, and manage your pics.
I'll then follow up a few weeks after to see if there is anything else I can do for them & then wish then the best luck and wishes for the future!
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
Every wedding needs the 'mantle place' photo for aunts, uncles, nan's and grandads, you know the one, the classic posed portrait. Once that is out of the way, I think the most important photo is capturing that moment shortly after the ceremony when the bride and groom have a moment alone, and just smile at each other like there is no-one else around for miles. That emotion is why we're all there on the day!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Good humour & flexibility!
Describe how you got into photography.
I asked for my first camera at about age 5. I've had one ever since. I just love documenting the world and telling stories.
