If you’re planning your wedding and want photos that truly capture the spirit of your day, Phil Nunez is the photographer to know. Based in the beautiful Kirkby in Cleveland, North Yorkshire, Phil has spent over 15 years specializing in documentary wedding photography. He focuses on telling your unique story by capturing natural, authentic moments that reflect the joy and personality of your celebration.
Phil’s approach is all about candid, heartfelt storytelling. Rather than posed shots, he captures the genuine emotions and spontaneous moments that make your wedding day special. If you’re not a fan of stiff, formal photos, you’ll appreciate Phil’s relaxed and unobtrusive style. He blends into the background, letting you and your guests enjoy the day while he documents the laughter, tears, and everything in between.
While Phil is based in North Yorkshire, he’s happy to travel across the UK for your wedding, including popular locations like Newcastle and Edinburgh. He’s comfortable shooting in a wide range of venues—from grand castles to cozy village halls—and excels at using natural light to create timeless, beautiful images you’ll cherish forever.
My own!
Candid, honest, natural, unobtrusive, observer.
I'm most proud of the fact that most of my work comes from referrals. That makes me smile lots.
Wedding planning should be fun, just don't leave it to the last minute and run the risk of losing out on some really top quality wedding suppliers. On a wedding day, I've experienced broken down wedding cars, broken zips on wedding dresses, toppled cakes, you name it.
It happens, so keep smiling (this really helps your photographer), party on, you still have each other, no matter what!
Too many to name, though the live video link with the singer Michael Ball wishing my bride all the very best was a pretty special moment. I'll never forget the expression on her face when he popped up in front of her!
Once you've checked your date's free then it's time for us to say hello. Usually in the form of a video catch up or phone call as they're a great way to get to know each other a little better and of course share ideas about your wedding.
If you book me, then I'm always at the end of a phone or email to answer questions throughout. A month from your wedding I'll send you an online form to complete some details and we'll then touch base on a video link a few days before your wedding to run through everything together.
I'll pop you a text the evening before your wedding to assure you I haven't forgotten and then see you in the morning.
Upon departing your wedding you can expect to see your images anywhere between 2-6 weeks after that.
Impossible to answer really. I aim to capture all the special moments, and the moments between the moments too, the bits that you might not get to see on the day, they're all No.1 to me, and hopefully to you too.
I can tell you about the least original photo I got asked to shoot at a wedding. The heart shaped group shot. Just don't even go there..
I recommend you party on as normal. It's only water!
I was inspired by my uncle's landscape and wildlife images. Long story!
