Keep it simple, don't try to manage the day by yourselves and always have either a wedding planner, venue manager or parent take charge on the day.

Meet, discuss; swap details by email; meet, discuss again and finalise details - build a full spreadsheet containing full guest list with details of formal photos required to share on the day so that there is no scrambling around in confusion.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Having lots of flash lighting available to enable large group shots to be taken in awkward indoor spaces. Also have a few white umbrellas available for light rain.
