Describe your typical process with a couple.
Normally I would reply to a request via email or phone and arrange a telephone consultation to discuss their style and requirements for the day. I would explain how I work and agree a package that suits their need. I would refer them to my website to view my work and confirm they are happy with me as their photographer and if they are, I draw up a photography contract and send it to the client. They would the sign and return the contract and pay an agreed deposit for the wedding. At this stage I contact the client 2-3 weeks before the wedding to confirm some of the fine details and again 2-3 days before the event. Final payment for the package is made 2-3 weeks before the wedding date or anything after the deposit is take if the client wishes. They then get married and arrange all the photos for them and send the first proofs through within 1 month of the wedding. If the client is happy (they normally are very happy indeed) I deliver all the final full resolution photos to the client digitally and on a personalised USB stick. If prints are requested they are then sent to the lab and delivered direct to the client within 2 weeks.
What is the No.1 photo that you think every couple should take?
The Close and intimate one. Just them, away from the guests looking at each other.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
I had a couple request a photos of everyone with their eyes closed looking like they where asleep when the best man was giving his speech.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Wedding wellies! Great fun!
