I've been a wedding photographer now for 14 years. I'm often told there’s “a calmness” to my work (it’s quite weird actually, I hear it all the time!) And I think it’s because I’m generally just a calm, cheerful, fairly quiet guy, and calmness is infectious. But whatever the reason, there seems to be something about me that puts people at ease. And on a day when emotions are running high and everything’s moving at a million miles an hour, a little bit of calm might not be such a bad thing.
I'm drawn to natural light, I love rich, autumnal tones in my pictures. I love the little unseen moments, they tell a story that's not always the obvious.
When I'm at a wedding I'm constantly amazed at the power of family, I try to capture that in my pictures. I want your wedding day to be full of fun and love, I never want to get in the way of that and I never will.
My belief is that the best pictures always come from genuine moments.
The couples that come to me will always tell me they really love natural photography, they feel a bit unsure about posing and don't want to feel as though they are posing awkwardly all day. They are looking for wedding photos where they look good, where they look natural, that they can look back on and feel great about.
For the vast majority of the day you'll probably hardly notice I'm there. I'll just be capturing moments as they happen. If you would like some creative portraits of the two of you then I usually need about 20 minutes or so and we'll just go off somewhere cool, find some great light, have a chat and take some photos. I'll guide you through it every step. The funny thing is, quite often people will say it was one of their favourite parts of the day.
Absolutely! This is your wedding. Whether you book me or not if I have one piece of advice to give it would be to do what feels right for you.
Here's the thing, every single couple I've worked with over the years has felt this way to some degree, some more than others but everyone has carried that bit of self doubt. Truth is, you are my favourite kind of people to work with. I recently had my own picture taken for my website and I felt reaaaallllly nervous before hand so I understand how you feel, the main thing I learnt from that experience is the guidance, encouragement, understanding of your photographer is everything, that's what you get from me.
That's just not my personality, I'm really not the cliched overbearing photographer who tries to take over the day, it's just not who I am. A quick look at my reviews will show that.
Of course! I actually think these are really important photos. My advice to couples is to keep the number of group photos to about 6 or 7 so that it doesn't take up the whole of your drinks reception. Remember as well that I'll be around all day so if you decide you'd like an impromptu photo with a group of old uni friends you just have to give me a shout!
It's really simple. Bookings are taken first come first served and all I need is a deposit of £300 which you can pay through online banking and for you to sign my terms of service which you can also sign online. Your remaining balance will then be payable 28 days before the wedding day
It depends really on how much coverage you would like but to give you an idea for my most popular package of coverage from getting ready until after the first dance, I usually deliver around 500-800 images.
I deliver a colour and black and white version of every photo, if both look great, why not have both!
