I’m Oliver — a documentary wedding photographer based in Bristol, shooting weddings across the UK.
I photograph weddings the way they actually happen. No staging, no shot lists to work through, no standing around while someone rearranges your hands. I move quietly through the day and photograph what is really going on: the look between you during the vows, your dad losing it during the speeches, your friends refusing to leave the dance floor. Most couples tell me their guests barely noticed I was there, which is exactly the point.
I came to weddings from architecture and events photography, which taught me to read a room — where the light is, where to stand, how to use a building rather than fight it. That is why I write venue guides for the places I shoot most: Brunswick House, The Ned, Chelsea Old Town Hall, Marylebone and Old Marylebone Town Hall, the Mount Without in Bristol. I am a recommended supplier at several of them.
What you get: preview images in your inbox the morning after the wedding, and your full gallery of 400–600 edited photographs within six to eight weeks. Everything from small register office mornings to full weekends — I photograph a lot of micro weddings and I love them.
Based in Bristol, regularly in London, and happy to travel. If you want someone who feels like a guest rather than a stranger with a camera, get in touch and tell me about your day.
Hmm I have had a few, Taormina in Sicily was breathtaking, New Years Eve with a groom in full military uniform including a very big hat...A film themed wedding where the guests had to find their names in the credits on the film posters and then the table names were on directors boards
Documentary, Reportage, Photojournalism
I think every couple should have something fun and silly that reminds them of exactly how they felt on their wedding day
Umbrellas, lots of umbrellas
I started shooting at a very early age then went on to study photography and work in the industry. In later life I have been photographing a lot of architecture and corporate events which has given me a great understanding of photography and composition. To now photograph weddings is a pleasure that I absolutely love and feel honoured to be able to capture these wonderful moments for all my couples.
