Planning a wedding that truly reflects your unique love story? Based in Telford, Shropshire, Nicola Gough Photography has spent over 10 years capturing weddings with a relaxed, natural, and instinctive style. Nicola’s focus is on the real, unscripted moments—the laughter, the happy tears, and the spontaneous dancing—that make your day genuinely yours. If you’re a fun-loving couple looking for a photographer who gets your vibe, you’re in the right place.
We know that not everyone feels comfortable in front of the camera. Nicola’s warm, approachable style helps couples and guests feel at ease, even if you’re camera-shy. Rather than quietly blending into the background, she engages with you and your loved ones like a trusted friend who just happens to be an expert photographer. This connection means she captures those heartfelt hugs, genuine smiles, and candid moments that tell your wedding day story beautifully.
No two weddings are the same, and Nicola’s photography packages reflect that. Whether you’re planning an intimate elopement or a full day of celebrations, you can choose coverage that fits your schedule and style perfectly.
Nicola has photographed weddings across Shropshire and throughout the UK, earning a reputation for professionalism and stunning imagery. She’s proudly recommended by top Shropshire venues like Pimhill Barn, The Hundred House, and the Mytton & Mermaid. Nicola’s expert eye and warm approach ensure your wedding photos focus on what truly matters: your love, your joy, and your celebration as a couple.
I've photographed over 200 weddings, so it's hard to narrow it down to just one. But Dads who get emotional at the sight of their daughter as a bride will always make me cry.
Relaxed, instinctive, natural, informal and fun
That in an ever changing industry I'm still shooting weddings after 12 years, and I hope I never have to stop!
Don't get hung up on the weather. It's the only thing you can't control so let it go.
And yes, your dress will get dirty, even on a bone dry day spent entirely indoors. Get over it.
And there's no such thing as too much confetti.
So many but this one really got me... the bride and groom had children from previous relationships as well as a son together. The bride's daughter really wanted to take the surname of her step dad/the groom but her real dad wouldn't allow it. So, on the wedding day, the groom/step dad had a necklace made for her and a pair of shoes with her new initials and surprised her with them during the speeches saying: "no matter what it says on paper, you are my daughter and I will always love you as my own." Not a dry eye in the house.
We'll chat, see if we're a good fit and go from there. There's no need to have lots of meetings on the run up but a coffee and cake before the big day is always encouraged. You can expect to have some sneak peeks of your wedding within 24/48 hours after the wedding, and then the full gallery will be ready about 5/6 weeks after the big day.
Confetti!
Every wedding is original, but a memorable one involved Mexican wrestling masks.
Embrace it! Grab a brolly or some wellies and just enjoy it. Don't let the Great British weather stop you from having the best day ever.
Like everyone who likes photography, it was a hobby long before I made any money out of it. Something I did in and around the day job. I studied a HND and later a degree in photography (I didn't graduate, that's another story!) I also began working as a studio assistant who could adjust lights and make great cups of tea, then photographed wannabe models for their portfolios, and then my first wedding in 2009.
