Seeing the Groom getting pelted with bean bags as he lost the space hopper race to his Wife’s team comes to mind! It was also the wedding where the Bride made her own flower bouquets and centre pieces out of felts. I love a bit of DIY at weddings and I’m especially fond of weddings that break from tradition in a way that lets the Bride and Groom’s personalities shine through. Also, at this wedding nothing went to plan but everyone had an amazing time. The ceremony was scheduled to take place outside but due to rain, it took place under a marquee. But it didn’t matter one bit because there was SO much love and happiness in the room!
Fun-loving, relaxed, natural, beautiful, cheese-free
Having a business that offers services that will delight couples for years to come! There’s nothing like getting a handwritten thank you card from an ecstatic bride with one of your photos on it!
Create some space in your wedding schedule for some downtime. The day goes by so fast and its good to grab a little bit of air. This is also a great time to capture some intimate and relaxed couples portraits.
1) I’ll always meet with my couples before booking. Booking your wedding photographer is very personal thing- its not just about the photos. I will be a guest at your wedding so its important that we feel comfortable with each other by getting to know each other a little. 2)To book me, I require a small deposit so I can lock your date in my diary so that I can start turning away work because I will be working on your wedding only. 3) I’ll then activate your client portal to help you keep on top of ‘wedmin’ and in the lead-up to your wedding I’ve send you lots of helpful tips to help you plan and get the most out of your photography so you can enjoy the day to the max. 4) One month before your wedding, well meet to run-through the final details of your wedding plans (timings, locations, group shot lists etc) to help everything run smoothly for you. 5) Wedding day!! 6) I will curate a selection of photos that best tells the story of your day and edit them to make each photo awesome (by making a few tweaks to the look). I will have your final wedding photos ready for viewing and sharing via your private online gallery 3 weeks after your wedding.
A group photo of you with your parents. I know its not the most exciting photo in the world but its one of the most important and its preciousness will increase rapidly over the years.
Bring an umbrella and some wellies there are so many great shots to be had in the rain – embrace it! Then again if its torrential, I always have a plan B. When I scout your venue I will note locations around the venue that have shelter so that we can grab some downtime for couples portraits without getting drenched!
It all started just before my daughter was born. I wanted to document family life in a way that was not disposable like the masses of selfies or general camera phone awfulness that spam up social media feeds...
I wanted to create photos that had more creative thought behind them, photos that I would actually pay money to print and put up around the house or send as gifts to my family.
A couple of years later my sister in-law invited me to shoot her wedding on a beach in Cornwall! Talk about a tough first gig- there’s no climb-down if I messed it up big time. But I was so thrilled to be asked because I’d been dreaming about shooting a wedding because in my mind it paired a truly joyous occasion with the need to have beautiful story-telling photography.
I LOVED it. More importantly they love the photos and couples today love their photos and as a result, I’m still booking weddings from my first wedding.
