What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Planning a wedding can be quite stressful. As the big day approaches, every now and then just step away from the planning process, go somewhere special together and spend time enjoying being a couple. No wedding talk allowed - just focus on what you love about each other.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Sending each other unexpected gifts and notes on the morning of the wedding. We've seen a lot of lovely emotional moments when that happens.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Beginning the journey starts with opportunity to get to know each other. Tell us what makes you special as a couple, how and where you met and what is unique about you, your love and your life together.
After we’ve met, and got to know each other, we’ll meet you again for a pre-wedding shoot. This is an opportunity to really connect and a chance for you to practice feeling comfortable in front of the camera. We'll teach you the poses that make you look your best and you'll come away with images you can use for your save-the-date cards or signature frames.
On the day we typically work separately with the bride and groom to capture your "getting ready" shots before coming together to capture the ceremony. We'll , shoot the group shots and then take time to work with you to capture the special images that define you as a couple. Then it's reception, speeches, cake cutting, first dance and often some stunning night time shots with you at your amazing venue. We also bring photo frames and chalk boards to the reception to make your party shots come alive.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
The one that captures your unique personality as a couple and makes your wedding pictures unique to you.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
That's a tough one as we aim to have one at every wedding. We always speak to you with a view to injecting your uniqueness as a couple. Recently we shot two brides dressed as super heroes because they both loved watching super hero movies. We also turned a groom into James Bond and had him led out of the house at gunpoint.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
We always carry a stock of umbrellas and encourage brides to pack wellies. If the rain becomes a feature of your day make it a feature of your pictures. A rainy day brings the opportunity to take advantage of beautiful reflections, brightly coloured umbrellas and a chance to do something a little out of the ordinary with your shots.
Describe how you got into photography.
It is just so much fun to be at a wedding. We are absolutely addicted to seeing your reaction to their your pictures and love the opportunity to be part of your special day. Sometimes we can't believe we get paid for doing something that we love.
