Based in Stretford, Greater Manchester, Mike Plunkett Photography brings a friendly, fun, and natural approach to wedding photography. With 13 years of experience, Mike specialises in creating timeless, vibrant images that tell the unique story of your wedding day in a fresh, modern way. His focus is on capturing real moments with real people, so you can relax, be yourselves, and fully enjoy your celebration.
Mike’s documentary (or reportage) style means he blends seamlessly into your wedding day, acting more like a trusted friend than a traditional photographer. He moves naturally among your guests, capturing genuine emotions and those special, often unnoticed moments—from laughter to joyful tears. This unobtrusive approach results in authentic photos that truly reflect how your day felt. Couples often mention how comfortable Mike makes them feel, helping to avoid stiff or forced poses.
For Mike, your experience on the wedding day matters just as much as the photos. He’s known for being a calming presence, helping you and your guests feel relaxed and at ease. As an LGBTQ+ owned business, Mike welcomes all couples and is dedicated to capturing your connection honestly and respectfully. Past clients consistently praise his patience, kindness, and commitment to making sure your day is as enjoyable as possible.
I was lucky enough to shoot a wedding in Sweden for a Swedish couple. It was in the south of the country with stunning locations and the reception involved a boat trip.
Relaxed, Natural, Modern, Fun & Creative
I'm good with people, being able to hep them relax around me and having their picture taken. I play a small but very important role in how my couples experience their day, good photography is also about how it felt not just what it looks like. I create photography that feels good and look good.
However much confetti you thought you needed, double it!
I've seen two brides sing at their own weddings now! Getting stuck in and being part of the entertainment or using your talents, if that feels right for you is awesome!
I capture things as they happen, you get to concentrate on enjoying your precious time together and with your friends and family. Confetti, groups and portraits will be well planned and fuss free!
I love a confetti moment! Not allowed confetti at your venue? Then maybe consider bubbles or ribbons on sticks!

Get some umbrellas that you don't mind being in your pictures. A big Umbro logo is unlikely to look good! If you have a change of footwear you may have more options to explore in wet weather for your little time out together, which is when we might get some lovely portraits of you both, even in wet weather!
A friend of a friend needed cover at the last minute and I was roped in! Then two other people asked me that year. Within five years it was my full time job. I feel like Wedding Photography found me and I'm so glad it did!
