Michael Stanton Photography Full Description
I'm a full-time professional documentary wedding photographer based in Sussex. I specialise in relaxed, unobtrusive and candid photography that captures the joy, beauty and emotion of your big day. Essentially, I love photographing people just being themselves. I'm also experienced at providing a few more formal shots of couples, along with group shots with relatives and the wedding party. My pricing plans for a full-day wedding (approx. 8 hours) is as follows: • Pre-wedding consultation (venue visit/face-to-face) to discuss your plans for the big day; • Full-day coverage (approx. 8 hours) of your wedding day, e.g. from getting ready until after the first dance; • No travel costs within south-east England; • Minimum of 400 individually processed, high-resolution, print-ready images on a memory stick; • Same number of low-resolution images for easy sharing online; • Slideshow with music; • Your own private online gallery with free downloads; • All print and image use rights for personal use. Fee: £1,250 Of course, if you want something more bespoke, e.g. less of my time on the day, or more, I’d be very happy to hear from you. I also design very high quality handmade wedding books produced in the UK by Folio Albums. They are really excellent and I’d be happy to talk you through the options and prices. Gallery quality prints are also available.

Personal Message from the Manager

Name of Wedding Contact: Michael Stanton
Welcome, and thanks for dropping by :-). I'm Michael, a documentary wedding photographer based in Sussex near Brighton. I take pictures that are real, unposed and natural. Of course, I also take a few more formal group and couple photos that most of my clients want. I'm very much a storytelling photographer. I was a journalist before I became a photographer, and that experience has had a huge effect on the way I approach weddings. I hope you like what you see, and I'd love you to get in touch.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Documentary, beautiful, humorous, emotive, well-composed.

What about your business are you most proud of?

The style of pictures I take – un-posed, un-cheesy, natural, fun and beautifully composed.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

When choosing a photographer ask yourself: Is there a range of emotions in the images – eg love, beauty, joy, pride, excitement and humour? Do the pictures make me smile? Are they natural? Are they well-composed? Do they tell a story? Are they different from most wedding images you see?

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Couples contact me and we arrange to have an initial chat on FaceTime or Skype (or similar) to say hi and ask a few questions etc. It's the best way of finding out if I'm the best photographer for a couple.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

There's no such thing as a No.1 photo every couple should take. Each couple is different and every image should tell a story of a wedding day.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

I don't stage photos apart from groups and couples pictures, and even then they look natural and unstaged.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Forget about the rain. It's your wedding day and nothing else matters! :-)

Describe how you got into photography.

I was the editor of a photography magazine and got to meet hundreds of world famous image-makers. This inspired me to start my own photography business.
