If you’re planning a wedding in Hampshire or the South of England, Mia Hooper is a photographer who truly understands how to capture the magic of your big day. With over 10 years of experience and more than 50 weddings photographed, Mia’s style is all about laid-back, genuine moments filled with colour and emotion. She focuses on telling your unique love story through images that reflect the true spirit of your celebration.
Not everyone feels comfortable in front of a camera, and Mia gets that. Her approach is designed to make you and your partner feel relaxed and have fun—no stiff poses or awkward moments. She takes time to connect with you before the wedding, usually meeting once before you book and again at your venue a few months ahead. This helps build a comfortable relationship and ensures she understands your vision, so your photos feel authentic and flattering.
For Mia, wedding photography is about more than just pictures—it’s about building lasting relationships. Many of her clients have become lifelong friends. Her top advice for couples? Enjoy the planning journey and remember that the most important thing is marrying your best friend. This heartfelt approach shines through in every image, creating a beautiful, authentic story of your wedding day.
I've been lucky enough to shoot all kinds of beautiful and interesting weddings over the years, from inside boutique hotels to beaches, in several treehouses, in lovely old barns and more than once in Nan’s back garden. I couldn't possibly choose a favourite; they're all unique and special in their own ways.
Colourful, contemporary, stylish, fun and romantic.
Having so many super happy clients who have also become good friends over the years.
Enjoy the planning process and keep sight of the fact that no matter what, you're marrying your BFF which is the best part of the whole thing.
I love it when instead of favours couples have donated to charity in honour of someone they love and have given their guests pin badges from that charity instead.
If at all possible I'll always strive to meet clients before they book so we can chat in person over a glass of vino and get to know each other a bit. Then once the booking is confirmed I make it clear to my clients that I'm always there for them if they need any weddingy help or advise and am more than happy to recommend other fab vendors to them. I then meet them again a few months before the big day at the venue for a look around together and a proper chat about family photos and timings so we all feel lovely and organised before the wedding day.
I always make a point of asking if my couples would like an individual photo taken with each parent present as I think one day down the road this will become a very special memory for them.
I have had a few couples who have brought their pets along to the wedding, so taking photos with their beloved animals is always rather unique and fun.
Embrace the rain! Let's make a feature of it and create some spectacular shots. Trust me! :)
I did a degree in photography in Brighton in 2004 and have never looked back.
