At McConnell Photography, I offer relaxed, natural wedding photography for couples who want their day captured honestly and beautifully. My approach is calm and unobtrusive, focusing on real moments as they happen, from the big emotional milestones to the quieter in-between details that often mean the most.
I photograph weddings across Mid Wales, Powys, Herefordshire and Shropshire, creating timeless images that feel personal to you rather than overly posed or staged. My style is documentary-led with gentle direction where needed, so you can enjoy your day without feeling like you are constantly being pulled away from it.

What’s your photography style?
My style is natural, relaxed and documentary-led. I focus on capturing real moments as they happen rather than staging everything. You’ll get a mix of candid storytelling alongside a few gently guided portraits that still feel like you.
How long do you stay on the wedding day?
I offer flexible coverage depending on what you need, from shorter days covering the key moments through to full-day coverage from preparations right through to the evening celebrations.
How many photos will we receive?
You’ll receive a full gallery of professionally edited images that tell the complete story of your day. I don’t cap the number, but typically you can expect several hundred images from a full-day wedding.
How long does it take to receive our photos?
I send a small sneak peek within a few days so you have something to share, and your full gallery is usually ready within a few weeks.
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes, I cover weddings across Mid Wales, Herefordshire and Shropshire, and I’m happy to travel further if needed.
Do you offer engagement or pre-wedding shoots?
Yes, I offer pre-wedding shoots which are a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera before the big day and get some relaxed photos together.
What happens if it rains?
No problem at all. I always have a backup plan and some of the best photos can happen in unexpected weather. I’ll work with whatever the day brings to make sure you still get beautiful images.
How do we book you?
Once you’re happy to go ahead, I take a booking fee to secure your date, with the remaining balance due closer to the wedding. Dates are only confirmed once the booking fee is received.
Do you offer albums or printed products?
Yes, I offer high-quality albums and print options so you can enjoy your photos away from a screen and keep them for years to come.
