Max Milne Wedding Photography Full Description

Hey, my name’s Max and I’m a Wedding Photographer based in the North East, UK. I photograph weddings in Newcastle, Edinburgh, Manchester, London & all across the UK.

I photograph weddings in a documentary style, capturing the lovely emotions, expressions, and actions which tell the story of your magical day.

I blend in like one of the guests, leaving everyone to feel relaxed and comfortable to be themselves.

I keep the posing to a minimum. This means I’m not constantly pulling you away from your friends & family, so that you can enjoy their company.

My editing style is true to life. The beautiful colours that you see on your wedding day (of flowers, trees, outfits & décor), will be reflected in your photos.

In my free time, I enjoy photographing my own projects, going to the cinema, hiking, and lots of nice food.

Max was so great on our big day.

Max was so great on our big day. He was super chilled and was so considerate to our guests with children and that Groom’s request to have only candid photos rather than staged which can’t have been easy for a wedding photographer but we knew Max had a great eye for detail and would be able to get great shots regardless. And we were not disappointed, the photos show our colourful day and make it so easy to remember every single detail. We couldn’t be happier!

Max was fantastic to work with.

From the first meeting to the big day itself, Max was fantastic to work with. He has such a calm and reassuring presence, which really helped us enjoy the day without feeling posed or stressed. The photos exceeded all our expectations and perfectly capture the emotions of the day. Thank you, Max!

Max did a fantastic job.

Max photographed our small registry office wedding in Durham and did a fantastic job. Communication in the run up to the day was clear and easy. I hate having my picture taken but Max made the process quite fun and the results are great!

The best we could wish for!

For a couple who aren’t naturally confident in front of the camera Max did an excellent job at helping make us feel comfortable. With his subtle direction and eye for interesting locations, we are more than pleased with the shots Max took. So happy with the way the photographs were edited, he’s got a great eye for colour with a quick turn around too. Would DEFINITELY recommend.

Better than we could have expected.

“We used Max for a family photoshoot on tynemouth longsands. We got a mix of natural and posed shots, posing was naturally guided and not at all awkward or stiff. Max was brilliant with our toddler in terms of keeping his attention, encouraging his adventurous side and general childhood conversation. End results were better than we could have expected and we feel Max has truly captured not only us as a family but our sons personality at this age, we will fondly look back at these photos to remem

I loved every minute of Max being at our wedding.

“Max saved the day and my wedding. My original photographer cancelled on me the day before my wedding which left me in a pure panic. After finding Max he traveled threw the night to be at my wedding the next day. I was so nervous as we only spoke briefly on the phone. I was totally wrong to be nervous he was calm, kind, easy to talk to and very professional. I loved every minute of Max being at our wedding. When the photos came threw I was amazed because even though we had drizzle and fog they s

Tell couples about your experience and approach

I have 7 years of wedding photography experience.

My approach is quite simple. I encourage you to be your authentic selves, forget I’m there, and enjoy your magical day.

A wedding is not about the photography, it’s about the wedding. It’s about the celebration of your relationship, shared with your loved ones through a once in a lifetime event. The coming together of everyone from wherever they may be in the world. It’s a time of connection and appreciation.

As a photographer, it’s my job to let the day run its course, in its natural & authentic way. A fly on the wall. An observer. Not a coordinator.

I will offer some light direction during certain moments, for instance, if you’d like some portraits of just the two of you stood in a meadow, or walking down a beautiful street. Or some natural family & friend group photos.

The rest of the time is spent capturing the unfolding of your unique day. The emotions, expressions & actions which tell the story of when you got married.

What can couples do to get the most out of their wedding photography on the day?

Just be yourself, and let me take care of the rest.

Are you super chatty or will you be a fly on the wall?

I’m a friendly fly on the wall.

What are your artistic influences?

Magnum & National Geographic photographers, and movies.

What was your favourite wedding shoot, and why?

I don’t have a favourite. Every wedding has its own authentic beauty.

What kinds of moments are you looking to capture?

The emotions, expressions & actions which tell the story of when you got married.

Why should couples choose you as a photographer?

You should choose me if my photos inspire you, and your values align with my approach.

What is the most important thing to you when you photograph weddings?

A mutual respect & kindness.

What's the most important thing couples should know about you before they book?

You’re happy with my photographic style & approach.

Which venues have you worked at?

I have worked at many venues across the country. Some of my favourites are Wylam Brewery, The House Meadow & Lartington Hall.
