Matthew Burfield Photography Full Description
Weddings should be fun! You've worked hard to work your personality into your wedding and that should shine through in your wedding photography. Let's get to know one another on a pre-wedding chat or maybe engagement shoot. Let me discover what makes you both tick and, most importantly, let's have a little fun! When it comes to your wedding day we'll have sorted out timelines, what shots you want and we'll have covered what happens in wet weather so you won't have to worry about anything. Within a month of your wedding you'll have your images on a USB stick in a beautiful presentation box. I can also make up albums and framed artwork if you wish. I look forward to chatting with you and shooting your wedding! Matt

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

A wedding that still makes me smile. A good friend and fellow wedding photographer (who is also my second photographer at some of the weddings I shoot) asked me to shoot his wedding - the poor chap couldn't stop welling up with tears of joy during the ceremony!

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Fun, relaxed, informal, candid-reportage, unobtrusive

What about your business are you most proud of?

Our flexibility. Speak to me about what you want; we can do it and have a blast along the way!

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Involve your photographer in your wedding day timeline. We know when the light will be best for your photos; it would be a shame to miss it...

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

A little bit niche this one; the whole reception venue festooned in bunting; Bunting was the bride's maiden name!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

I like to get to know my couples. Whether that is over a drink or two, a coffee, an engagement shot or just by email or FaceTime it doesn't really matter. I want to know what makes you both tick. Knowing me will make you more comfortable in front of the camera too.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

The couples' portraits. These are the pictures that you'll look back on in the future and the grand kids will be amazed that once upon a time you were both young and beautiful!

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

A shot of the couple running towards me across the lawn looking terrified. I was to photoshop in an Imperial Walker (from Star Wars) after the event. It isn't in my portfolio because I don't like it!

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Work out a rainy day spot in advance. Whether that is under the shelter of some trees or a more scenic spot within the venue or its outbuildings.

Describe how you got into photography.

My dad gave me an old film camera (I still have it) when I was about 8 or 9 years old. I have loved it ever since.
