Martin Bell Photography Full Description

Meet Martin Bell: Your Award-Winning Hampshire Wedding Photographer

Hello! I’m Martin, a proud husband, father of three wonderful girls, and an award-winning wedding photographer based in Hampshire. I truly believe there’s no better job than capturing the genuine emotions and joyful moments that make your wedding day unforgettable. After a career as a professional ballet dancer, I discovered my passion for wedding photography when I was asked to shoot a wedding—and I’ve been telling love stories through my lens ever since.

How I Capture Your Wedding Day

My style is all about documentary and wedding photojournalism. That means I focus on capturing real, unscripted moments as they naturally unfold. I blend into the background so you can relax and enjoy your day without feeling posed or interrupted. My goal is to preserve the authentic atmosphere and emotions, so when you look back at your photos, you’ll relive your wedding exactly as it happened.

What You Can Expect From Me

  • A Story-Driven Collection: Your photos will tell the full story of your day, bringing back the feelings and memories every time you see them.
  • An Unobtrusive Presence: I’ll be your calm, friendly guide—knowing when to step in with a joke or a quiet word, all while capturing those magical moments discreetly.
  • Authentic & Emotive Images: Expect vibrant, heartfelt photos that take you right back to the laughter, the dancefloor, and the special connections you share with your loved ones.

Experience & Recognition You Can Trust

Since starting my business in 2012, I’ve had the privilege of photographing over 50 weddings, gaining deep experience in capturing the unique beauty of each celebration. I’m honoured to be a preferred photographer at some of the South of England’s most stunning venues, including Rhinefield House Hotel and Somerley House. My work has also been recognised with multiple awards, including being named TWIA Wedding Photographer of the Year for the South Central region.

FAQs

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Documentary, Emotive, Storytelling, Creative & Fun

What about your business are you most proud of?

My nighttime photography which sets me apart from other wedding photographers

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

There are so many but there was one wedding where the Bride had created Pen and Ink drawings of venues visited by them. This was for the order of ceremony and table centre pieces.

What is the No.1 photo that you think every couple should take?

A photograph at night with the venue in as venues look completely different at night as opposed to during the day.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Two things, enjoy celebrating with your closest family and friends, really taking in every second. Also don't be scared to get wet as some of the best photographs I have taken have been when it has rained. It's very rare that it rains the whole day and there are always sections of the day with dry weather where we can get outside for some photographs.

Describe how you got into photography.

I used to be a professional ballet dancer and the head of marketing for the company I danced for was getting married. She loved my dance photography and knew I was training in wedding photography. She asked if I would like to photograph her wedding which was at a luxury Handpicked hotel in Yorkshire. From there the majority of my work has come from recommendations.
