Martin Beddall Documentary Wedding Photographer

James and I spent a long time looking at blogs, galleries, facebook and instagram before we contacted our shortlist of photographers. Martin sent me a few Southend Barns galleries to look at, that was it decision made.We received our pictures last night and it was like re living our Wedding day all over again. This is exactly what we wanted, a story book of our day.Some of our guests have commented 'we didn't even realise you had a photographer' - this is how well Martin fits into the day.

Martin produced far more than just photos of our wedding. He gave us a perfect photographic time capsule. His dry gently humour, unassuming manner, coupled with his utter professionalism and attention to detail enabled him to blend into the background and work his magic! The composition of our photos are superb, you can feel the love and laughter in each frame. Superb after service with images and album are the icing on the cake. Wonderful.

Martin was absolutely excellent. Whenever I thought that would be an incredible photograph" he was right there behind me already on it. He was on every moment without being intrusive which allowed us to enjoy the day without having to pose. Therefore the photos acted as a story book of the day which is exactly what we wanted. He captured intimate moments without us even realising and the images sum up the personality of our day perfectly !"

The use of lighting, the unique style and the natural feel of the photos. It was breathtaking. He was not intrusive, even capturing our quiet moments when we thought we were alone! Looking through his photos, we could relive our special day, from my tears watching my wife-to-be walking down the aisle, the laughter while listening to the best men’s speeches to our “well-practised” first dance. His work was simply magical.

We are really pleased with our photos! They look amazing and really capture the feel of the day. They are beautiful photos which look great in our albums and in photo frames. On the day Martin was excellent, very patient, very easygoing and excellent at getting the right shot. He was very efficient at taking our posed shots which gave us plenty of time to enjoy the day! I'm thrilled that Martin has captured our special day so perfectly!

Martin was very professional and had the unique knack of finding my good side when I didn't think I had one. His advice pre-wedding was very useful and his presence on the day was unobtrusive but tactical - managing to be at the key locations at the right times. In the end my wife, myself and our friends and family have a wonderful and beautiful collection of photos which represent the joy and togetherness in the individual moments of our wedding day.

On the Wedding day itself Martin was professional, calm and blended into the background; capturing beautiful moments without disrupting the flow of the day for our guests. Our photographs are exquisite - they document the day perfectly. There is an intimacy and realism in Martin’s photography which I suspect comes from his earlier work as a photo journalist for leading news organizations. His work shows subjects as they really are, in natural and unforced settings.

Martin excelled all expectation. From our first conversation to the finished article, we could not have wished for more. Martin was not only approachable and friendly but most of all, his work was truly exceptional. Our wedding was in a wine Chateau, which posed many challenges, not least of all lighting conditions. A keen photographer myself, I can only dream of creating the images he produced - each telling its own story, never simply a picture but real works of art we will treasure always.

Martin was a fantastic at delivering our vision of our perfect wedding photographs and a thoroughly nice person! The photos were online a few days after our wedding on a blog and when we returned from our honeymoon, the high resolution versions were delivered to us in a beautiful presentation box in both colour and black and white. Some of the pictures he took were truly stunning pieces of artwork in their own right and captured some really special moments.

Martin was the perfect choice for our wedding. We had a relaxed festival vibe and wanted the photos to reflect that. I also get very uneasy in front of a camera so Martins documentary style suited me perfectly. So well Infact that I actually forgot he was there!
