Martelle Photography Full Description
Hi, we are Martin & Ellen, a professional husband and wife photography team who capture beautiful relaxed, informal and creative wedding images across the East Midlands. We capture moments that are timeless in a ocumentary style which is perfect for telling the story of your day - In our experience it’s these fleeting moments and the connections made between people that you’ll look back on and treasure for a lifetime. We are professional but still have fun and are we are down to earth people. We are fully insured and have a wealth of experience. We are known for our WOW shots and our couples always book us wanting these. Evening dusk and low light wedding photography is a speciality, and during this days with less daylight hours and longer nights our couples can take advantage of earlier sunsets and dramatic low light portraits. We are relaxed, fun loving and caring. We will mingle with your guests and engage in chat with them. We are not ones to sit in a corner and be unapproachable. We don't boss people about and certainly don't bark orders at your guests. We create a good rapport with your family and guests and fully engage with them. We go the extra yard to help them where necessary and are often praised for our helpful approach. We take candid and natural photographs for 85-90% of the day but do a few more formal posed shots - with a relaxed nature and understanding approach. We are often described as 'so much more than photographers' so why not get in touch and see if Martelle are the photographers for you.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

Our next one. We really look forward to each wedding and try to blend the personalities of each couple into their photos. Thats exciting and fun for us as well!

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Fun, Relaxed, Informal, Stylish, Classy

What about your business are you most proud of?

We were voted in the Top 100 Photographers in the UK in the Summer of 2018, 2019 & 2020. We think that this is due to those 'little' extra things we do and how we think outside the box when needed. So often, couples and their guests say we are so much more than photographers!

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Always try and book early to avoid disappointment but be sure you get on with your photographer as they are with you all day!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

We meet at our place and discuss their wedding plans and ideas, we show and talk about what we do. We then leave the couples to decide. Our booking system is electronic and we then keep contact as necessary, once a client has booked.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

The First Kiss to coin the song lyric... sealed with a kiss

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

A 25 year later photo. We had to recreate a shot taken 25 years previously. It was originally 2 little ones on the shoulders of 2 uncles. Those little ones were now 27 (ish) and uncles still managed to give them a shoulder ride exactly the same!

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Bring wellies, have a sense of adventure and go for it.

Describe how you got into photography.

I saw a photo of star trails around Mt Kilimanjaro and wanted to be able to do it.
