There are lots to be honest, but the ones that stand out to me over the last year are;
1. Wedding in a field - After the ceremony the wedding party headed over to their farm to enjoy the day in their field where they had little tipi tents, hay bails, campfire and live music.
2. Jurassic Park Theme - This was an awesome wedding at The Oaks Hotel in Burnley and the couple had full size cardboard cutouts of the characters from Jurassic Park together with people dressed up as dinosaurs.
Reactive - Thoughtful - adventurous - mindful - unobtrusive
What makes me most proud of my business and what I do is the reactions from my wedding couples. Seeing someone really happy with the photo gallery I have produced for them and creating images that they will treasure for their life.
I am also extremely proud of the recognition I have achieved over the years for my work both as a Wedding Photographer but also a Landscape Photographer. I still can't believe that I have achieved Silver Awards from The Guild of Professional Photographers and had my works published in various national and local publications.
Just keep calm and remember it is your day to enjoy. Also, its your Wedding Day and not a photo-shoot!
A Crisp Wall - This was for one of my wedding couples at Crow Wood in Burnley and one of their wedding guests made a Crisp Wall as a surprise to them. Basically it is a wall with the brides favourite flavours of crisps which wedding guests can help themselves to. Its a unique touch that really surprised the bride and groom on the day and also something for them to keep afterwards...
Once we have made contact and a potential wedding couple have been sent my wedding brochure we would then go through the following;
1. Arrange to meet up for a coffee to discuss things and go through what you are planning for your big day.
2. If we are both happy to move forward we can then sort out the booking and get your wedding date booked.
3. We will keep in touch between the time you book in with me and your wedding day. I have various bits of information which I share with my couples along the way and share ideas.
4. If you have booked and engagement shoot then we will get a date booked in for this.
5. Pre-wedding Meeting. This is normally done around 3-4 weeks before the wedding day and it is now when we will confirm the timings, group shots, locations and contingency plans for adverse weather for example.
6. The day before your wedding - I will give you a quick call to confirm everything.
7. After your wedding day - I will produce a Sneaky Peak Gallery for you within 3 days and publish for you on your own private online gallery.
8. Your full gallery will be ready within 5-6 weeks after your wedding day
9. Once your gallery is published, you can choose your prints and if you want a wedding album we can start designing this.
10. Your Personalised Keepsake USB Drive will be completed and posted out to you.
Simply photos are the ones that never get old and these are the must haves for hanging on the wall for example. We definitely need a photo of just the wedding couple looking at each other taking some time out away from the busy day.
This is a tough one but I suppose from the last 12 months would have to be from the Jurassic Park Themed wedding I did earlier this year at The Oaks Hotel in Burnley.
There are various things we can do here. Depending on the venue, there maybe options around the venue where we can get some nice photos out of the rain. Most wedding couples will embrace it and we can use the rain to our advantage and get creative with umbrellas and Off Camera Flash.
My photography journey has bee a long a slow development while running two businesses. My passion started with the outdoors and landscape photography, which I still have a massive passion for and love heading up in to the mountains on a wild camp to catch sunset and sunrise. This then developed into doing wedding photography for friends and family which then progressed to where I am today. I have now left the two businesses behind and just do Wedding Photography and Sell my Landscapes. I can honestly say it is one of the best decisions I have made and love meeting up with wedding couples starting planning their big day to finally delivering their full gallery.
