What is your most memorable wedding?
A few years ago we were booked by a couple for a rock music style wedding at the Colchester Art Institute. The Whole wedding was like a rock gig on a stage with music and lighting. It was an amazing, fun and memorable day.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
fun, playful, unique, modern, arty
What about your business are you most proud of?
Our customer service and the amazing testimonials we have received from our clients.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Make sure you plan the wedding YOU want and not what your suppliers want! They are working for you, not the other way around! Enjoy this day and make it personal to you and above all, have fun planning it!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
We have seen so many but the rock wedding mentioned earlier, a groom arriving in his own helicopter and a wedding full of bouncy castles stand out!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Our couples usually email us and we arrange a meeting with them to discuss their ideas about their day. We never push for our clients to sign up on the night always let our potential clients decide if they would like to book us and get back to us. If they want to book us then we will ask for a deposit and issue a contract. We then will arrange to look at the venue if we haven't been there before and also offer a pre-wedding shoot nearer to the time.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
We always ask our couples if there is something different or special they have in mind. We always recommend a fun shot based on a shared hobby or passion that we incorporate into the day. A couple of examples have been a bride wanted to give her husband a piggy back and run around while we took photos, another was a bicycle loving couple who wanted all of the groomsmen and bridesmaids to ride bikes all around the wedding venue. We always try and find out what our clients passions are and try and build some shots around that.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
We've had some strange requests but the one that comes to mind was a groom riding a toy pig while the bride looked on in disgust....no really!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Lots of umbrellas! No seriously they look great in shots and can be so creative. Also we always scout the venues and note lovely indoor areas we could use.
Describe how you got into photography.
My Dad was a photographer and I started to take photos around the age of 5. I loved aircraft and would travel with my parents to airshows taking pictures of the planes. I fell in love with photography and....here I am today still loving it!
