We're so happy we chose Marina

When choosing our photographer, we definitely made the right choice - working with Marina was a pleasure from start to finish. The first time we met Marina was for our engagement shoot. We'd never had professional photos taken before so we felt nervous but, with Marina's help, we enjoyed ourselves and the photos are beautiful - we knew then that the wedding ones would be perfect (and they really are). Between our engagement shoot and our wedding, Marina communicated with us really well - we knew exactly what to expect (However, never did I think having photos taken would be my favourite part of the day - more on that in a minute). During the ceremony and reception, Marina did a great job of capturing us and our loved ones without getting in the way - which the reverand and a number of our guests complimented her for. During the group photographs, Marina was organised and ensured a part of the day that could have been stressful (based on the size of my husband's family) went smoothly. But, what we loved most about working with Marina was the couple photographs. Apart from seeing Matt's face for the first time and saying 'I do', it was my favourite part of the day. Marina gave us space to talk (for the first time as husband and wife) and to enjoy the precious moment - she took hundreds of photos without making us feel like we were in front of a camera and the results are absolutely stunning. We love our wedding photos so so so much and I would have one on every wall in the house if I could. I am looking forward to working with Marina again in the future - maybe next time there will be more than two of us but, until then, I'll be recommending her to every bride to be I know. PS The turnaround time and presentation of the photos was also really really really good.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

A beautiful summer wedding in the Lake District. It is memorable for the stunning views and the genuine joy captured on the couples faces.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Creative, documentary and romantic portraits.

What about your business are you most proud of?

The relationship I have with my clients! I get on really well with my couples and we just get each other. That's why a big chunk of my wedding bookings come from client referrals.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

To have a ball at the wedding! Forget the finer details or anything that didn't go just right and squeeze every drop out of your day !

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

I have heard some wonderful and memorable speeches at weddings! It's one of my favourite parts of the day, you can really tell how loved the bridal couple are by their friends and family.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

We would chat a bit about the wedding day by phone, in person or on email and get a feel for each other. Sometimes we would do an engagement shoot to get used to being photographed, I find this to be a great ice breaker.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

The gorgeous couples portrait !

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

The groom and his uni mates with a stuffed animal, there was a story behind it, I didn't ask !

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Get wet ! I have taken the most beautiful couples photos in the rain. I travel with umbrellas as well !

Describe how you got into photography.

It was my favourite hobby that turned into a dream and then I decided to go for it. I studied professional photography and then started doing wedding workshops with brilliant photographers of different styles. I have acquired a range of skills and you will often see my work reflects fine art photography, yet also documentary and natural moments. I had the chance to second shoot with an amazing photographer and then went on to shoot my first wedding on my own, and my business has slowly snowballed from there.
