Based in South Wales, Luke Jones Photography specializes in capturing weddings with genuine emotion and a vibrant, artistic touch. If you want your wedding photos to reflect the true spirit of your day—full of fun, colour, and heartfelt moments—Luke’s relaxed and natural style will help you feel at ease in front of the camera.
Luke’s philosophy is simple: blend into the background and capture your wedding as it naturally unfolds. This means focusing on real moments and genuine interactions, so your photos feel authentic and timeless. While the style is mainly documentary, Luke also uses “natural posing” to make sure even the posed shots look effortless and true to you as a couple.
To capture the full essence of your wedding, Luke combines several styles:
Absolutely my first one. I was so nervous and excited at the same time to be trusted with capturing the memories for all these people! It was 2 days before Christmas and I was in the middle of a family road trip. It was down at Oxwich Bay in Swansea and it was about 3 degrees and there was even a visit from Santa.
Fun. Exciting. Relaxed. Natural. Colourful.
I'm proud that little old me started this business from an old fitted wardrobe that I turned into a home office and that in my second year of trading we had the worst global health crisis in a long time and STILL I've managed to keep going, keep having fun and meeting some of the best couples out there.
Plan for yourselves. Buy what you WANT to buy and not what others expect you to do. It's YOUR wedding day, so if that means everyone turns up in swimming costumes, then everyone turns up in swimming costumes. If you don't want chair covers, it's absolutely fine.
I love a good photo wall of old memories. It lays out a little timeline of where you've been and how you got to where you are now.
I normally hold the initial talks over whatsapp/phone/email/zoom. It all depends on you and how you want to talk to me :) From there, I make everything super simple and have digital payment methods and contract signings (no more paper copies!). Then I pop across a questionnaire 6 weeks before the wedding and then I... turn up? I'm always available for questions and calls, but I'm very relaxed about the whole thing.
One that make you smile when you look back at them. For me that's candid photographs. Little moments that you may not have even noticed at the time. They're my favourite.
Just go for it. Take it and own it like a boss. If you don't let the rain bother you, it'll still be an amazing day.
Kids. Once they started appearing (I mean my own, not just random ones), I got into documenting my family. I started to enjoy it more and more and it kind of just spiralled from there.
