What is your most memorable wedding?
All of my weddings that I photograph are memorable in one way or another. From hearing deeply moving personal family stories from speeches to witnessing a unique bond between the bride and father of the bride.
Weddings can be emotional from all angles. From parents seeing their only child getting married to a couple marrying each other after 20 years together and families coming together, being united by the vows the couple say to each other.
I take something away with me after every wedding and not a day goes by where I don't find myself feeling incredibly lucky and privileged to be part of someones wedding day.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Classic, candid, joyful, relaxed, reportage.
What about your business are you most proud of?
The kind words I receive in reviews from my clients knowing that they will treasure the memories captured forever.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
It's your wedding, your rules. This is your special day and it is all about you and your partner. Don't let anyone else's expectation get in the way of your vision for your day!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
There have been so many. The one that stands out was a photo wall dedicated to the special family members that unfortunately could not be with the couple.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Once you have enquired with me and I have the information I need to quote for your wedding, you'll receive an email back within a few hours with quote and payment details and a copy of my contract. Once the contract is signed and deposit has been paid, the date for your wedding has been secured.
After that, I like to schedule in a pre wedding consultation . This can either be done on zoom or face to face if you're local. This is a lovely opportunity to get to know each other more and I will give you a short questionnaire so I can gather information like who is needed for group shots and the sort of shots you don't want to be missed.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
My favourite photos are when I sneak away with the couple for 10-15 mins for some photos of just them. This is always a lovely moment when the couple sink into that just married feeling and enjoy a few moments of alone time as a newly married couple. I'll take a few posed photos and some beautiful natural candids too.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
One thing we can't predict is the weather. If it does rain on your wedding day, I would recommend you lean into it as there is nothing you can do about it. Of course, pack some umbrellas, limit outside time and I will find some beautiful back up locations within the venue for your photos. And guess what, it will still be the best day of your life!
Describe how you got into photography.
I have been into photography since I was around 16 years where I took it as an A Level. And then at university, I studied it as a module which was my favourite one out of the whole of journalism degree!
I love how photography makes me feel and gives me a fire in my belly that I never want to go out. It gives me a personal passion, something that gives me drive and determination. It is such a rewarding job and my love for it shows in my photos.
