What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Try to keep the focus on enjoying yourselves rather than everything being ‘perfect’.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
One of my couples had the their proposal scene in Ibiza made into their wedding cake. The level of detail was incredible!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Once I've received an enquiry from a couple, I'll provide all of my options and then either arrange a video call to get to know each other a bit, or answer any questions via email - whichever each couple prefers! Once booked, I send out a contract to be signed and a questionnaire to be filled out just to help me get an idea of how your big day might work. Closer to the day, we'll book in another video chat to go through plans, finalise group shots, etc. After the day, couples receive a personal online gallery, which allows for either download options or gallery and print purchase via my online shop. I'm always happy to answer questions from both prospective and booked couples, and aim to make the process as comfortable and stress free as possible!
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
I'll be honest, I don't believe in 'no.1 photo for every couple' as every couple is different - I think my biggest piece of advice would be to think about and focus on what is most important to YOU, regardless of the expectations of friends, family or society! We all have different priorities and ultimately, your wedding day is about you and nobody else.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
One of my brides used a walking stick which had been decorated with flowers and fairy lights for the wedding. We took the time to get some great portraits incorporating the walking stick.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Get stuck in! Rain can make for super beautiful and unique photographs if you’re willing to risk getting a bit soggy.
Describe how you got into photography.
I started taking photos of my best friend when I was 15, as she had great style and loved to pose for me in weird and wonderful places! I really caught the bug, and was then published in a magazine (nothing glam - it was a photo of a tractor in a farming magazine!!) when I was 16. A few years later, I was asked to photograph a family friend's wedding, and the rest is history!
