I specialise in photographing alternative weddings and non-traditional couples throughout Somerset & Bristol. Because let’s face it – life’s too short to blend in with the background.
I’m all about celebrating the wonderful chaos that makes you you. Want to wear your Doc Martens down the aisle? Yes, please. Planning a medieval-meets-punk-rock ceremony in a field at sunset? Count me in.
It's difficult to say as I photograph a lot of very creative weddings but probably the most memorable in terms of theme has to be a game of thrones style medieval wedding, in a castle, during October. It was probably my dream wedding - Pumpkins everywhere!
Natural, Fun, Documentary, Alternative & Genuine
The relationships I've been able to form with my past couples. It's not just a business for me. I've made a lot of great friends through doing what I love.
Don't get caught up in perfection - Your wedding is yours and nobody else's, so try not to compare or get soaked up in pinterest too much. Go with the flow.
The best photographs are the ones where you are just being *you*.
I did an outdoor hand fasting ceremony and as the bride was Welsh and the groom Scottish, they used two different kinds of fabric, one fabric from Wales and one from Scotland. There were also lots of details during the reception that went with the Scottish/Welsh theme.
After booking we will arrange a meeting either in-person or over video if you're not local to Somerset. We'll do your pre-wedding session if you've booked one with your package. Once the big day has come and gone, you'll receive your digital gallery within 4 weeks.
Just allow more time for the two of you to have photos taken alone, as this time goes so quick usually and if we're taking them after the ceremony the guests typically like to wander over to us and start taking their own photos/directing themselves which eats into our time. I often advise to have some more portraits of you both taken in the evening after dinner to make up for this, especially if there's a good sunset! And you're usually more relaxed by this point.
It involved swords and a Druid in Glastonbury Abbey!
Embrace it! Have some clear umbrellas at the ready as rain can make for some amazing wedding photos. I've done lots of them!
I've been taking photos since I was about 7 or 8. It had always been a hobby, I couldn't imagine doing anything else. I fell into weddings about 15 years ago and enjoyed them a lot more than I thought I would, and now I'm absolutely in love with them.
