Kathryn Edwards Photography Full Description
Fun loving, friendly, photo ninja. Enjoys capturing the little moments in between the big ones. It is important to me that you feel relaxed and comfortable in front of my camera. I don't do awkward posing and much prefer to capture impromptu giggles and real tender moments. Its all about connection. You with each other and with my camera. Complimentary engagement shoot is a part of every package and its important to me to get to know you as a couple so I can provide the best possible service and the most relaxed images.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

One of my recent favourites was Marie and David's who got married at Papplewick Pumping Station. It really was a fantastic and unusual venue. The couple were super duper chilled and slightly geeky (I loved that!) and Marie had short hair like me and a beautiful flower crown, plus a genuine vintage 1930s dress. Just a dream wedding I guess. But really I love all the weddings I photograph. What makes them so special are the people.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Natural, relaxed, romantic, fun, happy

What about your business are you most proud of?

I am proud that I have consistently managed to attract such lovely couples many of whom I can now call my friends.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Don't sweat the small stuff and make your day your own! There are no rules. Do what YOU want to do.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Books from charity shops as personal favours, hand selected for each individual guest with a message inside. Such a sweet touch!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Normally starts with emails back and forth, then we often arrange a time to meet and have a chat before booking. Once booked, and deposit is paid we arrange a time for an engagement shoot so we can see and get to know each other a bit. I send out my A4 colour brochure that gives more information about what you can expect from your photography journey with me. We meet for the engagement shoot. Wander around somewhere having a chat and taking a few photos and it is really useful to get comfortable with my camera if you are a little bit camera shy. Or even if you aren't! ;-) Then I have various questionnaires that I send out to ensure I have all the important details from your day and we are good to go! I normally post a sneak peek one or two days after the wedding. My couples get there photos around 2-4 weeks after their wedding and a lovely little package around a week after that with a custom USB and a few prints. We stay in touch via FB and instagram and your photos will hopefully pop up on your anniversary and on my blog. Unless you request not to be featured. Thats it in a nutshell.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

I'm not sure there is one photo. But I think it is important to take at least 10 minutes of your day away from all your guests so you can have time together just the two of you (and your photographer obvs!) and hey, get a few cute pictures at the same time!

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

Hmmm. Need to come back to this! Possibly Marie and David working the pumps at the pumping station. That was fun and a little different. There must be loads of others!

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

wellies!

Describe how you got into photography.

Long story. Trained as an actress. Turned 30. Went to lots of weddings in one year (as a guest) picked up a camera. Started photographing weddings. The long winded version can be read on my website: https://www.kathrynedwardsphotography.com/photography-and-me/
