My customer service. Before starting my business I worked in customer based roles, and I like to bring all I learnt to my business. I like to get to know my couples and see what makes them tick. I'm still in touch with many of my previous couples via social media, and that's just the way I like it!
Make time for your photos. Factor it into your day when arranging dining, etc. It may seem obvious but many forget.
The groomsmen at a recent wedding put together a slide show (with a projector and everything!) of photos of themselves and the Groom, over the years. On a day that is typically mostly about the bride, I thought this was a lovely touch, and it brought much laughter to the occasion (as well as much embarrassment!).
We have an initial meeting where we get to chat. And another meeting at the venue a few weeks before the big day if feasible. In between I like to keep in touch where possible, and am always available if my couples have any questions that might pop up. Communication is key.
I believe every couple should make time for some couple portraits - even if it's just 15 minutes or so. You'll be glad you did.
Wellies and my bridal brolly! But if you really don't want to brave the rain, I will always have a plan B for indoor photos.
For years photography was my hobby. When I was made redundant I decided to try and make a go of it as a career. And the rest, as they say, is history.
