What is your most memorable wedding?
Every wedding is different. No matter what the day throws at you, go with it and you will have the most memorable day ever .
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Documentary style with a mixture of formal group photos and a relaxed couple portrait photo shoot.
What about your business are you most proud of?
From taking redundancy from my previous job in 2012 to building a photography business with happy clients covering around 60 weddings per year. I love my job !
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Unplug your wedding ! If you hire a competent professional photographer you don't need mobile phones blocking the isle and photos posted on social media even before you're married.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I love to see how creative couples can be with details such as favours and table name tags.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
If possible I like to hold consultation with the bride and groom to show samples of my work at their chosen venue and have a chat about how a photographer covers the big day. I inform them of my insurance and backup policy and if they wish to book me theres a contract. I don't try to pressure book a client.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
I photograph documentary style but also take the couple for a set of photos in and around the venue. It gives the couple time to reflect on the day and me a chance to capture some stunning photos that would look great on your wall.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
With years of experience Ive photographed some unusual things !
From a bridesmaid giving birth at a wedding to a guest diving into a lake jetty to catch the bouquet.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Don't let a rainy day dampen your wedding. I always carry several white umbrellas to help you along. Be brave and if you expect rain make it memorable by customising your own umbrella and even wellingtons . Some of my favourite photos have been taken in the rain .
Describe how you got into photography.
While traveling abroad with my previous job I loved to capture memories. Once digital cameras became available my photography developed and I found I had a passion to capture landscape, portraiture and nature . With covering all aspects of photography it gave me a great base to get into wedding photography.
