What is your most memorable wedding?
As for now, the Destination Wedding I shot in Puglia, Italy! The couple chose Italy for the sunshine... And rain was pouring almost all day! It stopped just in time for the couples photos though, and the clouds and wind added drama to the couple pictures, and it was beautiful! Such an adventure...
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Genuine, warm, emotion-driven, contrasted, natural.
What about your business are you most proud of?
I am proud to have 100% of my clients tell me I was very helpful on the day and made them feel at ease! I give my best to make sure my clients enjoy their wedding as stress free as possible, and I'm very proud to see it makes a difference for my clients.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
It is YOUR day, do exactly what you want with it - the people who love you will be happy for you no matter what! It may be controversial, but I think your wedding day should look like you, not what people might expect from you. You're the guests of honor, not the hosts...
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
One of my bride attached a locket with a photo of her late grandmother (whom she was really close to) to her bouquet. She showed it to her grandfather after the ceremony and they both were very moved. I captured the hug that followed, tearing up myself behind the lens...
Describe your typical process with a couple.
After the first inquiry, I send an email with the different packages I offer and ask for the couple's availability for a free consultation. After the consultation, I send a few entire galleries and a quote with the options we discussed. Once the quote is accepted, I send out the contract with an invoice, a deposit of 30% is required to book the date. After the paperwork is out of the way, I send the Wedding Guide compiling all the tips I gathered over the years, and create a WhatsApp group so we can keep in touch during the wedding preparations.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
The No. 1 photo every couple should take is... The one that look like them. I adapt to the personality of my clients, and I don't think Wedding Photography should be a one size fits all, because every couple is different! That's why I try my best to get to know my clients before the wedding day.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
I've had a few couples renting really nice cars for their wedding... And as much as they didn't ask for it, I have shot from the the boot of moving a car in front of the bride and groom, to capture their driving to the venue! Always being safe in slow speed of course.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Embrace it, and get transparent umbrellas! The rain can make the photos look even more romantic, and dramatic! If you don't want to go in the rain, we will always be able to find a place to shoot indoors. But rain in itself doesn't always mean ruined photos.
Describe how you got into photography.
I used to have photography as a hobby. A friend of mine asked me to photograph her wedding, and at first I said I didn't really feel up to the task! But after doing a couple photoshoot with them, I decided to give it a go, and I studied as much as I could to feel ready on the day. I fell in love with it, and decided to make it my job!
