What is your most memorable wedding?
My first wedding!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Modern, emotional, realistic, vintage edit
What about your business are you most proud of?
The genuine connection I make with the couple before a shoot and the teaser shots I send during editing, I like to keep constant communication.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Genuinely try to make a personal connection with the couple, you want them to feel comfortable around you so they can relax and be themselves.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Home made mead for all the guests!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Firstly once I confirm the day is free for me, I will offer to meet the couple for some coffee or something similar, we will talk about exactly what kind of shoot they want, if they want to focus on candids, posed shots or specific events etc...
I will then ask them to provide an itinerary of the day so I know where to be and when, mainly focusing on where the bride is getting ready and how long it will take to get from there to venue to allow for morning shoots and travel time.
After that I suggest to have a list of all the group shot variants they want so we don't miss anything.
On the day I will arrive at the brides morning location around when they're getting makeup and hair done to take photos, then once the bride is in her dress I will take her and the maid of honour around to do some posed shots, and be back in time for the fathers reaction.
From there I will travel to the venue for guest arrivals (or to groom location if it's a desired shoot, do posed shots there then go to the venue) and candids.
Once the ceremony is done and photos are taken there I will get group shots and bridal/groom party "fun shots" followed by taking the couple around the venue for 20-30 mins of posed shots.
I have my lunch while food is had.
After this it's usually speeches where I take photos of that, then it's the cake cutting, 1st dance and the party where I will potentially ask for some more posed shots before everyone gets too plastered haha.
Then you just have fun while I shoot.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
A relaxed photo away from everything where they get to be alone for a while.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
Not so much asked as did myself, but a backlit shot of the couple doing a dip-kiss while the guests lined up either side as they cheered
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Clear umbrellas
Describe how you got into photography.
I'm a professional graphic designer and this required me to understand the fundamentals of lighting and composition, and I had to do product photography.
From this a colleague asked me to do the photos for their wedding, and that's basically how it all started!
