We photographed a couple who loved The Beatles - you guessed it a Beatles Themed wedding!
natural, captivating, unobtrusive, moments, friendly
That I created it from scratch & took what was essentially a passionate hobby and now make a living out of it.
Dont skimp on canapes! Fed guests mean happy guests, mean great photos! So many weddings mean that guests have to skip a meal and are starving. Honestly I have photographed so many weddings where the guests are sat after the ceremony, no canapés, starving and looking miserable and longingly at the door to the wedding breakfast room!
Too many to mention really but I love an original wedding cake, not just a white tiered cake with a few flowers on it! Sorry!
After the initial email or phone call contact a meeting is then arranged. At the meeting I show the couple my work and talk through their plans for their wedding. I leave them with all my info and let them have a think about if they want to book. Hopefully they book! Then a deposit is taken, confirmation paperwork goes out in the post. I email every now and then to maintain contact before their wedding and then step up the communication about 2 months before the wedding asking for a wedding questionnaire to be completed to help with my planning. I am always available for help and queries.
Every couple needs at least one amazingly beautiful shot of just the two of them that they absolutely love! Simple as that, the one that you look at and can remember what you were thinking at that moment, that will always make you smile. We try to capture that photo.
We did a video of a couple doing a tongue in cheek version of Frozen's Love is an open door! Brilliant! At the same wedding the Groom sang with a Bruno Mars impersonator! Great wedding!
I have two pieces of advice - don't panic! We have photographed lots of rainy weddings. We nearly always manage to get some breaks in the weather and get outside. We have lots of white sheets to protect precious dresses from wet, muddy ground! Secondly - think about embracing it...funky wellies for the Bride, cute umbrellas (we have some!) and lovely kissing through see through umbrella shots with raindrops dripping down. Could make for the best photos!
A passionate hobby turned into my profession.
