Jamie Penfold Photography Full Description
For me wedding photography isn’t about stiff staged photos! It’s not about giving couples 800+ images most of which are repetitive and aren’t thought out. For me it’s about quality over quantity. It’s about well thought out images, capturing the moment and couples completely lost in each other! It’s about fun and making the process as pain free as possible and letting the day flow! I’ve used almost 20 years of experience to develop my skills, develop a product and develop a style which has seen me travel the length and breadth of the UK and Europe! Wedding images unique to you!

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

It was a stunning villa wedding in The Algarve. Beautifully intimate day with only 12 guests.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Relaxed. Creative. Professional. Fun. Discreet.

What about your business are you most proud of?

Taking something that I'm passionate about and turning it into a successful business, working with couples across The World and seeing their reactions when they see their images for the first time.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Get to know your wedding photographer!! You'll be working with them throughout the day so you have to get on with them!

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

My own personal touch is my wedding day toolkit! Always comes in handy....you never know when a bride or bridesmaid needs eyelash glue! In terms of the personal touch from a couple on their wedding day, favours that are individual to each guest attending.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

I work with my couples from day 1. We work on ideas, do venue visits and undertake a pre wedding shoot. It's all about getting to know the couple and putting their mind at ease leading them to the big day. Then on the day, be a calming influence on everyone whilst sinking into the background to capture the day as it happens. There is the creative side of the day getting formal shots but I do this without man-handling my couples and tend not to keep my couples away from their guests for too long. But every couple is different so I certainly don't have a one size fits all approach.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

Hard to say as each couple is different. But I do love a confetti shot as they are so spontaneous and you get some brilliant reactions in the shots!

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

"Can we get a graffiti artist to spray paint us?" The answer was of course yes!

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

An umbrella and an open mind.

Describe how you got into photography.

I've had a camera since I was 5 years old and like to copy my dad who was a keen photographer.
