If you’re a couple who values authentic moments over posed shots, James Tracey offers a fresh, storytelling approach to wedding photography. With a background that spans from professional photographer to award-winning filmmaker, James captures the real emotions and fleeting interactions that make your wedding day truly unique.
Based in Greater Manchester, James creates a relaxed, unobtrusive atmosphere so you can fully enjoy your celebration without feeling like you’re constantly in front of the camera. His focus is on the genuine story of your day—the laughter, happy tears, and quiet glances you’ll want to remember forever.
Rather than spending hours posing, you’ll spend most of your time with your loved ones. James’s documentary-style photography ensures that when you look back at your images, you’ll see your wedding day exactly as it happened, filled with real memories.
While James’s main focus has shifted toward wedding filmmaking, he still accepts a limited number of photography commissions each year. For couples wanting both photography and videography, James works with a trusted team of professional photographers and filmmakers. This collaboration ensures every moment is captured beautifully, without compromise.
With over a decade of experience and more than 500 weddings documented across the UK and internationally, James Tracey brings expert knowledge and a calm, reassuring presence to your wedding day.

At design college I did a couple of modules on photography, remained interested and then bought myself a DSLR in 2010. Quickly realised shooting at weddings was fun and it snowballed from there.
