James Thundercliffe Photography

We had our wedding photography and videography booked with James Thundercliffe Photography for our wedding on 31st October 2022. It was the worst decision regarding our wedding that we made, if I could go back in time I absolutely would not use him again. Which is really disappointing because we’d previously had family photos with him and he’d provided a good service, which is why we chose him for the wedding. In the day of the wedding his turned up over half an hour late, with no communication. One of the wedding guests actually had to try calling him to find out what was going on, he didn’t answer, but did turn up not long after. We didn’t have any other issues on the day, but the problems quickly began after the wedding. I was having to constantly chase for updates, there was absolutely no communication at all from him. I kept getting told he was busy and working on our photos/video. When we did get our photos back we were fairly happy with them, which is why I’m so disappointed at what’s happened since. I’ve been constantly chasing for our video and photo album, and 13 months later we still do not have them!! I’ve been chasing him regularly and just keep getting excuses that he needs more time etc etc. Our contract stated a time frame of between 6-8 months to receive everything. On the 27th August he sent me a link with an online video (I thought the link for the video was a private like our photos were, but he’s posted our whole entire wedding video on his public channel without permission, for everyone to see. This has all our guests and their children etc on it!). He also told me in the same message that the usb with the video was being posted, surprise surprise it never turned up. When I’ve asked for the tracking number he’s refused to give me it. He then told me that he was waiting for a refund from DPD because it was lost and would come back to me when he had got it. That was almost three weeks ago now. I sent his a formal complaint last week (see screenshots). And have not heard from him since. This man has had £1600 of our money since September 2022. He has either turned off reviews on his Facebook page or blocked me, so I cannot leave a review on there. My Dad has commented on his posts to try and get some form of a response form him, but comments are either “hidden” or deleted. I’ve spoken to Citizens Advice this week and have followed what they suggested, but again so far have had no response from this man. We are being left with no other option but to make a claim to the small claims court. This has caused so much stress and upset. I honestly cannot believe that he’s had all our money and has now taken to completely ignoring us.

Snapz covered our wedding back in May, and right from the off we knew we were in good hands! We had lots of communication with James and Charlotte in the run up to the day which was great. On the day they were so relaxed and they blended in with our guests amazingly well, they made everyone feel at ease and everyone had so much fun with them, and we asked for quite a lot of pictures as we have huge families and nothing was too much trouble for them. When we got our photos and highlight video back we were absolutely floored by how amazing they were still haven't stopped looking at them!! The team at snapz caught every detail of our special day perfectly and we're so grateful!!

We received an excellent package from Snapz not just with cost but with James and Charlotte themselves! Excellent photographers who have captured our wedding beautifully. Great with our children; making them feel at ease with the camera. Great with our guests with such a friendly manner. The photo booth staff were great too and it was great to receive the additional album and good for guests to take a photo home with them. We are very pleased that we choose Snapz. Thank you

As soon as we met with James the very first time we could feel how personal and professional the service would be,he had already done the research on the church we were getting married at,and come armed with printed pictures so he could discuss ideas. During the day he and the other photographer just felt like part of the wedding party and it all felt so relaxed and none of the photos felt forced. The photo book and memory stick we got afterwards were perfect. We got a deal with one of their photobooths also and it was fab!

From the first time we met James we knew our wedding photos were going to be amazing. Nothing was too much, he even drove 2 hours to our venue before the wedding to meet us and get a feel for the grounds. We had two photographers on the day of our wedding, James being one of them and neither him nor Lucy could do enough for us. James even washed the champagne glasses up before we left for the ceremony! Both photographers instantly got on with all of our guests and before long it was like they were part of our wedding party and not ‘just’ the photographers. We had hundereds of amazing photos to choose from and it was such a hard descison on which to pick for our wedding album, which I have to say is truly stunning. We also hired the photo booth for our evening guests and it is the best photo booth I have ever seen at a wedding. Such a fun idea and everyone had a real laugh. The photo album is great! It’s a day we will never forget. I couldn’t recommended Snapz enough so thank you to James, Lucy and the rest of the team for helping to make our wedding day the best day of our lives!
