What is your most memorable wedding?
Oh my goodness, how can I answer this?! Each one is as memorable as the next but some stand out moments include a bride being thrown off a rodeo bull, a cake fight, the bride and groom travelling in wheelbarrows and the couple who managed to keep the biggest smiles on their faces even though it rained so much it started pouring in the marquee!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Relaxed, natural, fun, happy and emotive
What about your business are you most proud of?
Every time I make a couple happy, that makes me proud.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Lists, lists and more lists! Write down everything! Everything seems so overwhelming but once you start working down your list and ticking more and more off it definitely seems a little easier.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Lots of lovely personal touches but I think my favourites are flowers grown at the couples own garden, jams made in their own kitchens and one bride even made her bridesmaids' dresses!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Generally we chat through email so I can get a bit of an idea of your day then meet to go over things properly. You can get to know, I can get to know you. After that we keep in touch and arrange an engagement session (such a great way to get to used to the camera!) there'll be one more meeting before your big day and then I'll arrive on the morning to be with you throughout the day!
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
I believe that every wedding is individual and should be treated that way. There's no go to shots for me, just capturing the couple's personality.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Umbrellas!
Describe how you got into photography.
I alllllways loved photography as a child and I grew to love it more and more as I got older. The time that really stood out to me was on holiday with my grandparents in the Lake District. We visited so many stunning places, there was so much to see and so much to capture. I decided then that this was what I wanted to do, I feel so at peace photographing people, animals, places - they all make me so happy. After that trip I saved, saved, saved and purchased what I thought was the most amazing camera in the world. From there grew Jade Nott Photography.
