There are too many! Every single wedding I shoot is different. Some may stand out because they were in a chateau in France but equally a wedding in a town hall can make a huge impression on me. It's about the people and the emotions more than anything
Stylish. Fun. Personal. Relaxed. Informal.
That I've kept going for 15 years!! I am still here, still loving my job. Also being recommended by a bride and then shooting many weddings in her friendship groups and family. That actually means the world to me and I get to see my lovely couples again and gain over the years.
Book the big things, venue, photographer, dress and all the things that need confirming early. Then take a break from it. Come back to it again closer to the time and enjoy it. I planned my wedding in a few months and I loved the build up. Just relax and remember why you are doing it all in the first place. You will want to look back on pictures of people having fun and you two having the time of your lives. Oh, one last thing. Let the people you have booked do their job and you can get on with having the time of your life. Don't micro manage, it will take the joy out of it all.
For me it's all about people and I love it when I see the love that comes through on the day. Cheesy I know but really true.
We have a consultation before the day so that we have all our timings and group shots planned. On The day itself I am mainly shooting candid images except for the pre planned group shots, we keep these to a minimum but make sure we get the important people. I will take the couple off on their own for 15 - 20 minutes for portraits. This is a lovely time, you tow get to catch up with each other and I get to capture gorgeous images of you both. The only other time I need you is later in the evening for a few magical images in The Golden Hour, that time before sunset when the light can be amazing.
If you took nothing else just an image of you both relaxing and taking it all in will capture it all.
Gosh, maybe it involved a dog!?!
Embrace it, let me worry about the light and lets get some fun shots of everyone running along under umbrellas. You have to go with the flow!!
I loved art, painting mainly but realised that I could create so much more with a camera. I started out working for other photographers and never looked back.
