Jacqui McSweeney Photography, Hove Full Description
My job is to tell the story of your wedding … A full day package is the best way to get the most out of your wedding photography. I arrive a couple of hours before the ceremony to where you are getting ready. I love this time, all I can do is spend time capturing the final preparations and watch the excitement build. After the ceremony we put some time aside for formal photographs. I always advise that you keep these to minimum and we will discuss the shots that we need to get prior to the wedding. I like to have a little time with the Bride & Groom alone, this is the time where you get to really talk and see each other properly for the first time. I do pose these shots but within this time there are so many opportunities for beautiful candid portraits. The speeches, first dance and general merriment are all captured throughout the day. After the wedding I take 3 to 4 weeks to edit your images, you will receive a beautifully presented USB Flash Drive with aprox 400-500 images, you will also have an online password protected gallery and I will write a blog feature on your day. I work with the best albums companies out there and if you chose to have an album we can start work on that in the months after your wedding. My main objective is that you enjoy having your photos taken. For the portraits we can just have fun and for the candid shots I don’t even want you to know I’m there.

Jacqui far exceeded our expectations

Jacqui by far exceeded our expectations as our wedding photographer. We knew she was amazing (her work speaks for itself) we just didn't realise quite how amazing!! We felt so comfortable so quickly with her and basically had fun all day taking loads of different shots, her ideas were brilliant and she is so wonderful and friendly we couldn't have asked for more. Walking through the Laines in my wedding dress with Jacqui snapping away will be one of my all time favourite memories of our wedding day. So thank you Jacqui, so much! We are all so in love with our pictures and will cherish them forever!! I would 120% recommend Jacqui!! xx

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

There are too many! Every single wedding I shoot is different. Some may stand out because they were in a chateau in France but equally a wedding in a town hall can make a huge impression on me. It's about the people and the emotions more than anything

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Stylish. Fun. Personal. Relaxed. Informal.

What about your business are you most proud of?

That I've kept going for 15 years!! I am still here, still loving my job. Also being recommended by a bride and then shooting many weddings in her friendship groups and family. That actually means the world to me and I get to see my lovely couples again and gain over the years.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Book the big things, venue, photographer, dress and all the things that need confirming early. Then take a break from it. Come back to it again closer to the time and enjoy it. I planned my wedding in a few months and I loved the build up. Just relax and remember why you are doing it all in the first place. You will want to look back on pictures of people having fun and you two having the time of your lives. Oh, one last thing. Let the people you have booked do their job and you can get on with having the time of your life. Don't micro manage, it will take the joy out of it all.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

For me it's all about people and I love it when I see the love that comes through on the day. Cheesy I know but really true.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

We have a consultation before the day so that we have all our timings and group shots planned. On The day itself I am mainly shooting candid images except for the pre planned group shots, we keep these to a minimum but make sure we get the important people. I will take the couple off on their own for 15 - 20 minutes for portraits. This is a lovely time, you tow get to catch up with each other and I get to capture gorgeous images of you both. The only other time I need you is later in the evening for a few magical images in The Golden Hour, that time before sunset when the light can be amazing.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

If you took nothing else just an image of you both relaxing and taking it all in will capture it all.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

Gosh, maybe it involved a dog!?!

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Embrace it, let me worry about the light and lets get some fun shots of everyone running along under umbrellas. You have to go with the flow!!

Describe how you got into photography.

I loved art, painting mainly but realised that I could create so much more with a camera. I started out working for other photographers and never looked back.
