Intuition Photography Full Description
Hello, this is Chris and I have been photographing people for nearly 25 years. For much of that time, I have worked as a fashion photographer shooting fashion and campaigns for a number of major high street brands such as Hobbs, White Stuff and Clarks and numerous mail-order catalogs. This work has taken me around the world a few times and I am very lucky to have been able to work with some amazing people in some of the most amazing locations. I still shoot fashion and am in the process of booking a 5-day shoot in Greece for a UK fashion brand. However, I also love shooting weddings and have recently launched Intuition Photography as a way of separating my commercial work from my weddings. I said at the top I have been photographing people for 25 years and that is the important part of what I do. It doesn't matter to me if it's a fashion shoot or a portrait or a wedding, at the end of the day it's photographs of people and that's what I do best. I love working with natural light and when I do come inside I use daylight as my inspiration. I also love working with people, allowing natural events to evolve and capturing those little moments that would otherwise be lost forever. If you'd like to discuss your wedding photography with me please get in touch, I'd be happy to meet up and have a proper chat. I don't do things quite the same as other photographers but I think that's probably a good thing.

Personal Message from the Manager

Name of Wedding Contact: Chris Blott
Hello again. Thanks for getting in touch with me. You'll have seen some of my work by now, maybe looked at my website and no doubt read a bit of the waffle I wrote about how brilliant I think I am! Let me stop you right there, anyone can write that stuff. What you really need to do is sit down with me (or another photographer) and as best you can get to know them and them you. Get in touch, I'd love to meet up and chat properly.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

Apart from my own (yea I have to put that, it's in the contract), it would have to be Kirsty and Dean who married in a castle just outside Florence. The light and location were perfect and of course, the bride was beautiful.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Simple, happy, fast, unobtrusive and good.

What about your business are you most proud of?

Photography is a highly competitive business and I am proud to say I have been a photographer from the day I left college and am still earning my living doing what I love.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

It will never work out quite how you planned but that's OK the unplanned version will probably be better.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

I like it when I or other people working at the wedding get properly swept up in the day and share in the emotions just like every guest.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

There is no typical process and if that ever happens it's time to move on. I treat each and every couple like it's my first wedding, after all, it's (most likely) their first wedding. Everyone is different (thank heavens) and I want to hear from you first, who you are and what you like before I start telling you how things are going to be. All I will say is that I would want to sit down with both bride and groom as soon as possible and talk, take it from there.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

Similar answer to the last. I think if you start thinking that way you are already shutting the door on the creative process.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

Sorry to be boring but see my last answer.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Don't fear the rainy day wedding, embrace it. I have spent my whole career dealing with weather of all kinds and the two things I've learned is that you can't change it and there's no use worrying about it. The pictures might be different than if it had been sunny but sometimes bad weather forces you be to more creative and very often you end up with a really unexpected set of stunning images which you wouldn't have had if the weather had been sunny.

Describe how you got into photography.

It's the same old story. I hated school and learning from a book (dyslexia). It was only when I discovered photography and that learning a new skill didn't necessarily mean reading a book that suddenly everything came together and made sense. And then I discovered I could make my living doing it, happy days!
