What is your most memorable wedding?
The wedding at The Savoy in London. What a venue, amazing location even a boat trip down the thames and a fantastic photo shoot with the couple. The Savoy will always have a special place in my heart.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Natural, Genuine, Emotion, Love, Romantic.
What about your business are you most proud of?
My personal approach to each and every single couple. I make sure from even before you book me to on the day, you have everything you need from me as your photographer.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
I have two tips. I might be a bit biased, but I tell my couples never compromise on capturing your memories. Your day flashes by so quickly it is so important to make sure your memories are there after the day for you to look through, so you can look back at your day and re-live the excitement, joy and love of your wedding day.
Another thing is that I tell every couple that they should try and keep the formal lineup list as short as they possibly can as its never a great experience to keep your guests standing around during your wedding reception. Keep it to the must haves and there's always time throughout the rest of your day to have more pictures with your guests.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I don't necessarily have a favourite. Just make your wedding right for YOU. Make it yours and everything else will follow.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I will be there in person from start to finish. I meet couples in person to give advice on their individual needs. If possible I try and do a pre-wedding shoot with every couple so you get to know me before your day, and that you are comfortable around me and my camera.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
Every couple is different, don't follow trends just because you think you need to. I make photography personal to you and your day.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
The groom arriving to the venue on a horse. That was definitely memorable.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Get creative with umbrellas and a bit of reverse flash for an unforgettable dramatic couples shoot.
Describe how you got into photography.
I began my photography journey in my teenage years with my uncle's old Nikon traditional film camera from the 60's. Manually photographing, developing and printing my images in the darkroom. I became a passionate teller of stories through imagery, photographing moments that meant something, for people that really care.
After graduating with a BA(Hons) Photography degree from Nottingham Trent University, I trained and worked as an advertising and fashion photographer in London and around Europe where I gained a deep understanding of communication through imagery and the use of light on people and their surroundings. Combining this with my love of natural, documentary-based imagery led me towards pursuing wedding photography in my own unique way.
Since photographing my first wedding in 2012 and absolutely falling in love with it, I decided to blend all my experience from studio and editorial work while exploring the creative process of wedding photography. With an emphasis for capturing those fleeting moments often missed by other photographers and a keen eye for details and emotion, I started my own brand which eventually became Indigo Images.
I love what I do and look forward to the uniqueness each wedding has to offer. It’s an absolute joy for me to photograph weddings! I would be honoured to tell your story and capture your once in a lifetime moments.
