Ian Garfield Photography Full Description
It is such a great privilege to be able to share your day and capture the emotions and happiness that your special day brings, not only for you but for your family and your friends too.  Photographs make such great gifts and capture memories in a way that nothing else can and are a keepsake for literally generations, long after the big day is over. My style incorporates a relaxed, friendly and unobtrusive approach ensuring that the photography is definitely a fun element of the day.  The resulting images will capture a visual story of your special day and will serve as a keepsake to treasure for many years to come. I'm professional, organised and experienced so you can be sure to take comfort in the knowledge that what is an important aspect of your special day will run smoothly and exactly as you want it to without any bossing around or upset to your guests! Everybody's wedding dream is different and each couple will have their own style on the day.  It's really important to choose a photographer that can reproduce the thoughts and ideas you have - and hopefully that'll be me! I offer all couples a personal service which includes an initial consultation so I can get to know you and understand how you envisage your day.  I'll also visit locations prior to the day itself, allowing me to be creative on the day.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

Sorrento, Italy in 2009! It was such a privilege to be asked to go to Italy for wedding photographs and the day was spectacular, right from the bridal prep images at the start of the day to the wonderful, magical, colourful sunset in the evening.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Natural, unobtrusive, original, stylish, reliable

What about your business are you most proud of?

The great reviews couples leave me

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

A couple had their wedding themed around a TV listing guide, akin to the radio times! Each 'copy' gave info about the couple/day as if it was an article as well as the running of the day like a TV schedule!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Once the couple have decided, I will arrange a meeting to discuss their requirements as well as going through the day with them. I'll outline what they can expect as well as outlining what I do as part of the day's photography. Once they're happy, we'll go from there and I'll be on hand from that day, right through to the wedding day itself. Afterwards, images are provided and I am on hand to discuss any ways in which they want to show off their images.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

For me, it's the little features that stand out. So whatever makes your wedding different, that's what I should get. A couple's hands/rings always makes a lovely image

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

One groom was an electronics engineer and he had made lots of hearts with circuit boards and red LEDs. He'd dotted these around the venue and wanted to make sure they were part of the album!

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

A light umbrella! Rain doesn't always stop play, sometimes it's fun to get outside even if it's just for 2 or 3 minutes!

Describe how you got into photography.

My father, definitely! His love of photography and the family slideshows we looked at when I was younger always excited and thrilled me. There's something about viewing images on a large screen, the atmosphere and memories of when the shutter was pressed.
