What is the No.1 photo that you think every couple should take?
A quiet portrait together, away from the music, the chatter, and the movement of the day. Just the two of you, stepping aside for a moment of calm. It’s the kind of moment where the world seems to slow down—where you’re not thinking about poses or cameras, but simply being together. You take a breath, look at each other, and let the reality of the day sink in. In those gentle, unguarded seconds, when you’re just breathing each other in, the connection between you becomes beautifully real, and that’s where the most meaningful images are often found.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Embrace it. Rain has a quiet way of transforming a wedding day into something even more romantic and atmospheric. Instead of worrying about the weather, we lean into it—finding those soft, cinematic moments beneath umbrellas, in doorways, or out in the open where the light catches the falling rain. There’s something beautifully intimate about it: the closeness, the laughter, the way you naturally hold each other a little tighter. Some of the most magical, emotional wedding photographs happen when the rain arrives, turning the day into something wonderfully unexpected—and the photos are always, always worth it.
Describe how you got into photography.
Back in 1990, when I started working for a professional photo lab. They were looking for someone with a creative eye and it felt like the perfect fit for me. Even as a child, I was always the one with a camera in my hands, fascinated by the idea of capturing a moment and preserving it forever. Photography had already quietly become part of who I was.
Working in the lab gave me a deeper understanding of the craft—the magic that happens between the click of the shutter and the final image in your hands. But more than the technical side, it strengthened something I had always felt, capturing real moments.
Over time, that passion naturally grew into the way I tell stories. Photography became more than just taking pictures; it became a way of preserving emotions, relationships, and memories exactly as they felt in that moment. A simple love for storytelling and honest, unposed moments is what ultimately led me to photography—and it’s still what inspires me every time I pick up a camera.
