What is your most memorable wedding?
To pick our most memorable wedding would be too difficult! Each one has been unique in their own way and as such we have enjoyed them for different reasons. However a memorable addition to one wedding we shot was the couple choosing to have their wedding breakfast served out of the back of an ambulance (adapted of course). We both thought that something awful had happened when the bone fide ambulance turned up. It was our first ever wedding together and we didn’t know what on earth to do. We went racing inside to find them lowering the back ramp and rolling a menu out!

Describe your typical process with a couple.
This very much depends on the needs and wishes of our clients; however, we like to work with couples as much as possible! It’s crucial that people feel comfortable and relaxed with us and most importantly, we understand them! We appreciate it’s a big decision for a couple to entrust us to capture the biggest day of their lives, so we want them to know, feel and be confident that they’ve made the right choice in choosing us. We give the option of pre-wedding photo shoots which is a great way of showing our couples how they look in front of the camera whilst demonstrating the way we work. It’s a privilege to be asked to a couples wedding and as such we like to foster a trust which matches that privilege!
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
As there are two of us, we have the ability to capture images from different angles, which gives us wider scope and flexibility to the pictures we can capture. The kiss after being pronounced husband and wife is the one photo that every couple should have taken. That said, we look to capture subtle, natural moments that are normally not seen by couples or their guests. By this, we mean the looks, body language and actions which speak a lot louder than words! Love is whole lot more than saying “I love you” and this unspoken emotion is what we try to capture!
Describe how you got into photography.
Hidden Emotions was born out of friendship! Elliott and myself worked together in another occupation, when we discovered that we both shared a love for photography. Shortly after discovering our shared interest, we were asked to step in and capture our first wedding when a couples chosen photographer cancelled. Although a little scary for us both, we both relished the opportunity to capture our first wedding. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience, the excitement and weirdly, the pressure of photographing such an important moment in a couples’ life. From this moment, we knew wedding photography was our calling!
