Wow, so many to chose from. I think it's between one of two weddings. The first we photographed at Bury St Edmunds Cathedral followed by their reception at Haughley Park Barn, this was a gorgeous August wedding and everything we hope our weddings will be. A gorgeous couple, lovely friends and family and lots of love and laughter. The speeches especially still make me laugh thinking about them. The second would be when one of our couples took us to New York with them to photograph their intimate wedding. Such a different day with so many new challenges but one we wouldn't have missed for the world. Stunning in every way.
Informal, relaxed, natural, happy and beautiful
That we stay true to our style and don't template, copy others or follow fads that come in and out
Look around at photographers, try to meet with a few. Once you feel a connection between yourselves and a photographer they are usually the ones perfect for you.
Letters written to each of the guests as to why they were important to the couple as wedding favours, not an expensive thing but so personal and there wasn't a dry eye in the house!
We usually e-mail, speak or meet. Talk about your day in detail, discuss what you'd like and the speak as often as you'd like in the run up to you. We will always speak a few weeks before your day to go over all the details.
A standard full length one of the two of you looking at the camera. Whilst it's never our favourite photo (or yours) we find most of our couples relatives want a photo like this for their walls so it keeps everyone happy by spending just a minute taking it.
We're not usually asked to take specific photos like this as our couples trust us and our style that we'll capture what we see on the day.
Have a contingency plan in place and think about this when looking at venues .... Ask them where they'd use for group shots, drinks etc on a wet day. Each photographer will work differently. We carry big umbrellas and are happy to photograph out in the rain if you choose to!
I've always taken photos since I was little, I worked at a studio for a while but wasn't keen on the restrictive nature of this. I love photographing people and relationships so the natural progression was into wedding photography.
