What is your most memorable wedding?
They are all memorable in their own ways, no one wedding is more special than another
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Friendly, unobtrusive, professional, natural, creative
What about your business are you most proud of?
Our ability to be professional, but still remain friendly and approachable.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Do what you can to accommodate your guests, but don't try to please everyone, otherwise you will end up with a wedding day that is nothing like you dreamed of or wanted. Stay true to yourselves and your wish list.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
We love seeing how creative couples are, specially when it comes to including loved ones on their special day.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
An initial no obligation meeting to discuss requirements and show what we can provide to create a package individual to the couple. If happy, we then take a deposit to secure the date and sign contracts. A first detail meeting to start getting a basic idea of the format and timings for the day. Then a venue visit with or without the couple to assess lighting and best places for photographs. A final meeting two to four weeks before the wedding to finalise all the timings and collect final payment (if necessary). Attending the rehearsal if a church wedding. In between all this numerous emails between ourselves and the couple, specifically the bride to get dress details without the groom becoming aware of how she will look on the day to keep it a wonderful surprise for him on the day.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
Since all couples and weddings are different, photography for each event is different. We do not have a set photo that is a must, we have many general ones we will take, but each wedding is individual and this is reflected in the photographs.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
The groom dressed as a pirate setting off a cannon in Charlestown Harbour.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Do not panic ! We carry a large number of umbrellas in a multitude of colours, so as long as people are willing to be outside we can still get some amazing, fun photographs with the added injection of colour from the umbrellas. The venue or church are also usually decorated beautifully, so if indoor photographs are a must, there is still always a good background to utilise. If it is a summer wedding, the chances are it will only be a passing shower and we can always do outdoor photographs a little later if preferred by the wedding party.
Describe how you got into photography.
We have both always loved photography. Used to cost us a fortune in processing costs when we used film cameras. The advent of digital cameras has given us so much freedom and removed many restrictions on the number of photos we can take. Having photographed for friends and family occasions it was a natural step to set up our own business.
