Planning your wedding should be joyful and stress-free, and your photography should reflect that. Based in the heart of Devon, GRW Photography, led by Gareth Williams, specialises in capturing your day as it truly unfolds. With more than 20 years of experience as a press photographer, Gareth brings a unique storytelling eye to weddings, focusing on genuine moments and emotions rather than stiff, posed shots. His photojournalistic style ensures your wedding album feels authentic and full of life.
Gareth’s goal is to blend seamlessly into your celebration, helping you and your guests feel completely comfortable. This relaxed approach means he captures those special, often unnoticed interactions and the real atmosphere of your day. While he loves candid reportage photography, Gareth is also happy to include traditional group photos and any specific requests you have, creating a flexible and personalised experience tailored just for you.
Finding the right wedding photographer means choosing someone who truly understands your vision. Gareth’s background in photojournalism sharpens his ability to anticipate and capture fleeting, meaningful moments. The result? A beautiful, artistic collection of images that tell the story of your wedding day in a deeply personal way. Couples often say Gareth feels like a trusted friend behind the camera—someone who puts them at ease and lets their true personalities shine.
I capture moments as they unfold. My ultimate aim is for you to not even realise I’m there, but I'm also more than happy to shoot any group pictures you ask for, a confetti image, sparklers, a whole group photo straight after your ceremony is a given. I basically give you what you want but with the majority in a reportage journalistic style.
I’m a photojournalism enthusiast, telling stories with photos, and what better way than at weddings. My background is within the press industry, newspapers and glossy magazines, which I genuinely believe has helped me create a more edgy feel to my reportage style.
My 15 years as a press photographer have helped me interact with people and get the best out of situations. Newspaper and magazine editors have often told me that they can only fit one image on the page, so there has to be one picture that tells the whole story. Having the best part of around 10 hours to capture your wedding day, I feel I can truly get absorbed and portray the best of it.
I can offer bespoke packages to suit your requirements, from all day coverage which includes photos of bride/groom prep right to the party at the end of the day and anything in between!
I can arrange for a second photographer to shoot your day with me at an additional cost if required. Having a second photographer can really help cover the day from a different angle, so is beneficial.
I offer an online gallery for all clients which includes free high-resolution download of all images. Other options can include bespoke photo albums.
Yes, I have full professional business insurance cover including public liability and indemnity. If your venue requires proof of this I can provide it.
Please do get in touch, I'm happy to share links of previous weddings I have photographed so you can get an idea of my style and also see photos from a venue you may have chosen for your special day.
Yes I can offer a pre-shoot/engagement shoot at a location of your choice. This is a great way to get to know each other, discover my photography style and feel relaxed in front of the camera.
Yes, I carry three cameras and lenses in my bag all day.
I take time to carefully back up and then edit your special photos. The time-frame for this can vary but I am always happy to provide a 'quick-look' selection of images, should you require photo thank you cards to be made up or want to post some onto social media before receiving the full set.
Please get in contact via email or phone or on my social media channels and we can go from there. I require a 20% deposit to secure your date.
