If you’re planning your wedding and want a photographer who combines artistic skill with a warm, personal touch, Grant King Photography is here to help. Based in Hawkwell, Essex, Grant specializes in capturing the genuine, candid moments that tell the unique story of your wedding day—without feeling posed or staged.
Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, and Grant’s approach is all about making it enjoyable and effortless. Before the big day, you’ll have a detailed consultation to share your vision and style preferences. This helps Grant prepare to capture those special, fleeting moments that matter most.
On the day itself, Grant works quietly in the background, blending seamlessly with your venue and guests. This means you can focus on celebrating, knowing your memories are being beautifully documented without any added stress.
Grant’s style leans towards documentary photography—capturing natural emotions and fun as they happen—while also creating timeless posed portraits you’ll love to display and share. Here’s what you can expect:
Couples consistently praise Grant for his friendly, professional, and attentive approach. Even those who feel camera-shy find themselves at ease, resulting in natural, heartfelt photos that perfectly capture the joy and emotion of their wedding day.
A very last minute booking where the bride & groom had been let down twice due to ovid with photographers letting them down, I was booked with just a few weeks to go & it has become one of my very favourite days behind the lens. It was such a fun & relaxed day where I was truly sorry that I had to leave the party behind.
Relaxed, Creative, Fun, Considerate, Relaible
The fact my couples all feel at ease with me. whether they have studied Instagram & pintrest or they are super shy in front of a camera. I make wedding photography fun & stress free which results in some precious memoris being captured.
Don't allow yourself to get too overwhelmed by worrying about others. It is your day, so make it about what makes you happy. not what the guests, venue or Photographer want to happen.
I had a bride & groom where the Groom was a Ice Hockey player & the Bride was partial to an afternoon tea. The centre pieces on the tables were customised Hockey Pucks & up & saucers.
Once a couple get in touch (or filled in the website enquiry form), I would send an initial questionnaire asking for some more details about the day. Before we even discuss pricing, we would arrange a phone call (or zoom chat) to have a chat about the day & what the expectations were from me in regard to the coverage they would like. during the call we would have a chat about themselves, the venue & any details about the day before. once we have discussed the pricing, if a couple chooses to work with me, we set up a Whatsapp group chat to discuss anything at any time in the run up to the wedding.
About 3-4 weeks before the wedding we would arrange to meet up for a pre-wedding "engagement" photoshoot to look at the venue & get used to each other’s personalities (& get used to being in front of the lens. go over any last-minute changes or details &generally make sure things are ok at both ends.
On the big day it's simple - your wish is my demand!! - I will liaise with the venue to make sure that everything is running smoothly & on time to take the stress off your shoulders so you can enjoy your day. If you have booked for a full day you will receive one of our signing frames that will have a photography taken during our engagement photoshoot that will be placed with pans to be signed by your guests, before I leave on the night that image will be swapped out for your official wedding portrait & left to continue to be signed (alongside some cards with the password to your private gallery on my website where your guests can view your wedding images once you have seen them).
the next day I will send you a hand full of Sneak peek images via Whatsapp to share with family & friends to keep them at bay! Once all the images have been edited, we will arrange to meet up & I will present your engraved wooden USB key containing your Wedding Gallery along with a slideshow of the highlights set to the song from your 1st dance. At this point I will open the gallery for your family & friends to be able to enjoy the images.
I call it the Grandma picture - one traditional picture of just the bride & groom in a classic pose so Grandma can have it on the bookcase!!
I had a Groom who wanted me o take a photo with his Groomman who was passed out on the Lawn of the venue.
Don't panic!! - both myself & the venue will have congintancy plans in place!
ever since I was a child I had always been the kid with the camera in hand at every event. As I have got older my hobby has turned into a passion.
